A Sentiment

God knew what He was doing when He sent a gentle breeze and brought a lovely butterfly to set my heart at ease. The happiness of your friendship and the gentleness of your words have touched my life in special ways and now I feel assured. Thank you for your loyalty and for reading everyday. I only hope you find things to make a happy day.

Favorite Things Saturday

If you think you've read this before....you are right. It's not exactly the same post as before, but close.I wasn't really prepared for A Favorite Thing Saturday...and just went through my pictures and wrote this...after all it is one of my favorite things...worth another read. An oops from me this morning.

My favorite thing for today's post is the Grotto at St. Mary's Catholic Church in our town. It was built by my husband a couple of years ago.He sat in our breakfast nook...planning this on a piece of paper. Working later with an architect...this is what he came up with  This is the front view.
Here it is from behind. The grasses and plants have really established themselves since the beginning. I helped with the planting and things came together so easily. Most things worked out as we planned.
There are seasonal plantings here...so something is blooming pretty much all through the spring and summer. From tulips in the spring to roses in the summer...and ending with the grasses and mums in the fall.
Joe built this in memory of his first wife and the pavers in front are stamped with both of our deceased family members. The other pavers are there for members of our Church to remember their family members too. It's a popular spot for meditation and prayer...first communion pictures as well as wedding pictures. A wonderful addition to our Church and the surrounding area.
I'm joining with Claudia today for Favorite Things Saturday...please stop and read or join in with one of your favorites. http://mockingbirdhillcottage.com/

I've written about this before and I have a blog dedicated to it. It is one of my favorite things...so I decided to write about it on Favorite Things Saturday...http://sacredheartmemorialgrotto.blogspot.com/

It is truly a place of peace and contemplation. Joe did a fantastic job--with help from God I am sure.

You could take pictures of the grotto each month and write a post each month to show the difference. I don't mind. Have a nice weekend. Regula

What a lovely memorial - your church must be so grateful for Joe making it really beautiful for the church and the members. How thoughtful to have the pavers as remembrances to both of your families, and others - I believe Joe and you must be very kind people.

Lovely story - thanks for sharing Balisha.

Happy weekend - Mary

It definitely is a lovely spot. The inscribed pavers must be very special and meaningful to you. What a nice spot just to be with the Lord!
