A Sentiment

God knew what He was doing when He sent a gentle breeze and brought a lovely butterfly to set my heart at ease. The happiness of your friendship and the gentleness of your words have touched my life in special ways and now I feel assured. Thank you for your loyalty and for reading everyday. I only hope you find things to make a happy day.

This picture shows the calm before the storm. The clouds gathered and it got dark. It rained...not a lot. We were sitting in our living room watching a movie. It wasn't raining any longer. It was hot and humid. All of a sudden there was a big boom...our living room lit up like a fireball had exploded. It was so loud that it made the phone ring, next to my husband's chair. My hubby literally jumped out of his chair. My eyes were as big as saucers...he said. We knew that something had been hit by lightning nearby. Then we heard sirens. We aren't usually the kind of people who chase fire engines, but these were in our neighborhood. The lightning hit just a few doors up the street. It hit the electrical box of a neighbor's house and left a hole in the house. Our neighborhood is all hills, so we are pretty high and lightning has hit before. This was the strangest thing though. There was no storm, wind, rain....nothing at the time it happened. My husband was just ready to go out and cook on our grill. There was no rain after this happened either. Even our hard of hearing Laddie...headed for the closet.

Gosh Balisha, That really sounds scary. I am glad you all are o.k. and sorry for your neighbor. Storms scare me to death especially lightening. Have a good weekend.

Beautiful sky photo! How amazing all that color. Yay for you getting rain. We've been having frequent afternoon storms this week with a sudden downpour lasting all of 5-10 minutes. Just a teaser really, not enough to even replenish my rain barrels. :(

Hi Judy and PG,
It's really hot here today. The weekend is supposed to be worse. The "storm and rain" didn't amount to much...only the lightning. Our weather forecaster said that anytime there are storms in your vicinity...you could be hit with lightning...even if the storm is off in the distance.
You both have a nice weekend too!
