A Sentiment

God knew what He was doing when He sent a gentle breeze and brought a lovely butterfly to set my heart at ease. The happiness of your friendship and the gentleness of your words have touched my life in special ways and now I feel assured. Thank you for your loyalty and for reading everyday. I only hope you find things to make a happy day.

Plants in the Basement

This is where my plants are residing for the winter. I re potted some of them and cleaned them up by clipping off flowers and dead material. The first picture is kind of dark...I took it at the same time as the bottom one...go figure. Between taking care of these and my houseplants upstairs...I will be busy keeping them alive. Plus I have my amaryllis plants in the dark corner.
My orchids are thriving...I mark on the calendar, when they need watering and feeding and don't veer from that schedule. Remember, I am a nurturer and want to keep things nice and wet. I do spray them daily.....makes me feel good as little droplets go down into the woody planting medium. Now, I have to find out when I should repot them. Their roots are coming out of the pots and trailing all over the pebble trays that they are sitting on. I'm hoping one or two will bloom in the spring and don't want to repot if I will sacrifice that bloom. I guess I'll research a little more. (Just did some checking...I guess I'll leave them alone. Sounds like mine are healthy and it's natural for roots to climb all over out of the pots.)
An update from Madison:
Sam was released from the hospital on Sat. He has to stay in Madison for a while...to be near the hospital and doctors. What a miracle...heart transplant and out of the hospital in 6 days. Please continue prayers for him.

An addition...Have any of you experienced having problems uploading pictures to blogger? It is taking me forever to upload them. I have changed browsers...from Internet Explorer to Mozilla Firefox, then Google Chrome...neither of these is any faster. Are any of you having uploading problems...or is it just me?
