I opened two little flat packages, that came in the mail, yesterday. My little sewing projects had arrived. I wanted something to work on this winter...that didn't require a lot of thought. I have done very intricate quilting some years ago, but I don't have the eyesight for that now. I still get the urge to do a bit of needlework, however.
I was looking for fabric with birds or flowers on it. So many of the fabrics that I wanted were not in stock, so where did I go...to Etsy. I had never looked at fabric there, but I was surprised when I found so many choices. These are little panels that I can stitch as much or as little as I want. I can follow the pattern or do something creative from my own mind. I have a new embroidery frame...a gift from my son, that I haven't used before. Here's the chance to try that one out.
So, with the new embroidery frame, pretty bird and flower panels, and my new craft lamp by Ott....I should be all set for many hours of stitching.
I would lilke to make a new runner for the porch table and maybe a couple of pillow covers for the porch. I'll have all winter to finish these. Now, if my eyes cooperate I'll be happy.

How pretty, Balisha! I am not talented so I don't sew or embroidery. But your work is lovely!
Hi Balisha,
Just love this post!! Etsy is an invaluable source for me, too. I am able to find all sorts of unusual new/vintage quilting material and even backs for my quilts. Love that site!! Your winter projects will be lovely and I cannot wait to see them finished.
PS. What type of Ott lamp did you get? I am thinking of buying one as my sight is poor in the evening.
Kitty...I have OttLite SlimLine Task Lamp White at Amazon..for my computer desk.I've had this for a long time. I think that their bulbs last for something like 10,000 hours.
I just purchased an OttLite Folding Task Lamp in white. It has a 13 watt bulb.I got a deal at JoAnn's. It only cost me $24...they had a special on it and then free shippiing on Columbus Day.
I'm really pleased with both of these lamps. They aren't battery operated.
Such pretty fabrics--the first ones remind me of old seed catalog illustrations. I've never thought of checking out Etsy for fabric. I've been looking all over for a pattern with dragonflies to make a project for a friend; I'll have to check this out. My parents gave me an Ott Lite as a gift several years ago. At the time I thought it was a bit strange, but I certainly do love it now!
The fabric is just gorgeous! I have a vintage shop on Etsy, so I am there all the time! I am still surprised by all of the wonderful things I find there!
This fabric is so pretty...especially love the little chickadees! :)
