A Sentiment

God knew what He was doing when He sent a gentle breeze and brought a lovely butterfly to set my heart at ease. The happiness of your friendship and the gentleness of your words have touched my life in special ways and now I feel assured. Thank you for your loyalty and for reading everyday. I only hope you find things to make a happy day.

Favorite Things Saturday

Favorite Things Saturday is back again. I'm late doing this, but went through my files to find a picture that I could use. I guess that I will tell about my favorite hobby....which has been painting since the 80's. A couple of years ago, I started to play with watercolors. I took a class that was offered by our local park district and then took another session of classes. Our class was made up of 8 people of all ages. I was the oldest and than some middle school kids were the youngest. It was a fun experience. We all had the same paper, paints, brushes, and other tools...but our pictures all turned out very different. The instructor showed us a few tricks with spray bottles and salt etc. I really didn't get a lot out of this class, but it was fun. A nice past time for winter. The picture below is one that I did a few years back. Looking at it...I think that I might start doing it again.Painting is a hobby that can be done anytime in your life. Remember Grandma Moses?

I love the colors of your painting! I always wanted to take a water color class and now you have inspired me to do so.

Very nice! I would never dream to put pencil/brush to canvas. I think I will stick with patterns, either in sewing or stitching and leave the creating to you!

I remember reading another one of your posts about painting awhile back and I thought that you should start it again when I read that one and saw a painting that you had done / you have quite the talent and oh how FUN it must be
( I can barely draw a stick figure so I envy those who have such a talent! :)
Hmm...why not do some watercolors of your birds at the feeders for instance ? :)

Hi Balisha,
What a lovely post. Your watercolor is beautiful. You are a natural! I hve tried my hand at several mediums over the years and I have a deep admiration for watercolor. I think it is the most challenging. Your painting is a treasure, my firend!
Blessings and thank you for your thoughtful comments on my blog.
