A Sentiment

God knew what He was doing when He sent a gentle breeze and brought a lovely butterfly to set my heart at ease. The happiness of your friendship and the gentleness of your words have touched my life in special ways and now I feel assured. Thank you for your loyalty and for reading everyday. I only hope you find things to make a happy day.

Tim's 55th Birthday

Tomorrow is my oldest son, Tim's, 55th birthday. I can't believe he's that old...the years have just flown by. His dad and I had his name picked out while we were still in high school. Later the show Lassie came on with the little boy named Timmy. We didn't name him after Timmy, however. He was born on a very hot day. We brought him home from the hospital to an upstairs, 3 room apartment. We had a fan and that was always in the bedroom... for our baby to keep cool. A very happy contented baby...one who slept through the night very early. My Mom had our gas checked one day, because she thought we had a gas leak...he slept so much.Later a baby girl came into our world.  He grew up with his little sister LuAnn right along with him. She was 13 months younger. I had my hands full with these two little ones. He was a very gentle and kind little boy. He didn't want to fight. A little boy in our neighborhood used to pick on him and I had to teach Tim how to defend himself. Tim turned into someone who loves to tease. He has a wonderful sense of humor.  His need of sleep continued on during his high school years. I was always afraid he would be late to class...so I would go out and start his car in the winter. His little brother, John, was told to take a pickle jar and put it on his back...to get him up in a hurry. Well, now Tim is a grown man. He and my daughter-in-law , Renee, are raising her grandson Anthony. Tim has this little sidekick to do things with. They love to fish together, do yard work, work on Anthony's homework, take care of their pets and get into trouble with Renee. They have a dog, Coco, and a snake...called Monty Python. They have had all sorts of creatures...Tim is a boy's dream for a father figure. So, tomorrow, August 17th is a very special day for both of us. He's a son to be proud of and I'm his Mom.
Love you,
Mom

Balisha,
My oldest about the same age and 14 months later her sister.
We continue to have much in common.
A bad storm last night.
I have never been frightened
but they are so bad lately I find it unsettling.
have a good weekend....

How lovely! I love that name. Our firstborn grandchild is named Timothy, which, of course, frequently gets shortened to Tim and Timmy. His father, our first baby, was born in 1957. The years surely do flit by.

Balisha, that is a lovely tribute to your son, who sounds like a wonderful guy. You raised him well.
