This is my knockout rose. The best year yet. I can't say enough about these roses. Never having success with growing roses and finding a variety that is almost carefree...was a wonderful thing for me. I have always admired roses in other people's yards. I tried to grow a couple, but I had no success. They always had some problem or another. Now that I think about it...back in those days, I had a mostly shady yard. It was before I knew about J. beetles, and I really didn't have the time to putter in the garden. Maybe I would have more success now, but I really don't have anymore room...so I will continue to enjoy other people's roses and be satisfied with these beauties. It must be a good year for knockouts...because as I said this has never been better. My way of handling the J. beetles is to cut off the blossoms and not let them enjoy my roses. By the time new buds appear the beetles are gone. It worked last year and I'm going to try it this year. I'll enjoy this first flush and then later, when the blossoms are fewer, I will cut some off and put them in vases around the house...or give some to neighbors and give those dreaded beetles a bare rosebush.
I have to go now...I've been up with the birds and we have bran muffins to eat. After that I think I'll take some time to smell the roses. Have a beautiful day.

Your roses are beautiful, Balisha. I have never tried roses as I've always thought they needed too much pampering. I am glad to hear that Knockouts grow well for you. Maybe one day I will try them, too.
Thank you for visiting my blog. I am glad the Knockout does good for you as it does for most growers but not for me! I don't know what it is but the bush never looks good for long. I have other old roses that do well. I never spray any of them, maybe that is what the knockout needs.
Beautiful roses. Have you tried to find a yellow knockout? It has the sweetest scent.

Your Knockout roses are beautiful! The bush is just loaded.
Your roses are just lovely...I'd heard about Knockouts and was thinking about using them in the garden against the house along the driveway. Thinking of yellow.
