A Sentiment

God knew what He was doing when He sent a gentle breeze and brought a lovely butterfly to set my heart at ease. The happiness of your friendship and the gentleness of your words have touched my life in special ways and now I feel assured. Thank you for your loyalty and for reading everyday. I only hope you find things to make a happy day.

Spring Things

Yesterday found me trying to fill the containers with new soil. I figured out a way to do this while sitting in my green chair. I cut the bags open and put the soil in a bucket...mixed it...and then filled the pots.

I  had several plants to put in...some herbs, a half a dozen strawberries, tomatoes and a Mandevilla. The strawberries will go in the big cup and saucer planter for on the deck table. I plant these for the birds and maybe a few nibbles for me. Last year I did moss roses and the J. beetles had a field day in there.
Another back saving help ...raising the hose up high enough to reach easily and buying a lightweight hose. No more reeling out that heavy hose and dragging it across the yard and then reeling it back.
Here are the pots all planted. The first one is the Mandevilla . I plan to put it next to the small piece of chain link fence where I have planted a Sweet Autumn Clematis. the next is the cup and saucer with strawberries. Then the herb pot.
Here are the tomatoes in their pots. I  have a cherry tomato in  my herb garden and another big one at the corner of the house...in the ground. None of these is in full sun. I don't know how they will do without the proper sunlight. An experiment.
When I was done and everything cleaned up I went up to the house and went in and sat by the window. I heard the doorbell and went to see who was there. Fed Ex and just delivered these tulips from my daughter. My tulips didn't do well outside this year, so now I have this lovely bouquet to enjoy for Mother's Day. I had just opened the mail and found a gift card from my oldest son. It's for a favorite restaurant :)Tomorrow, my youngest son and 4 grandchildren will be here for dinner. It's a combination  birthday (for him) and Mother's Day.
I already have my Mother's Day present from Joe..A Keurig coffee maker. I have wanted one for so long. He couldn't wait for me to see it...we've had several cups of coffee...learning how to use this new toy.
Well, I have the food ready for tomorrow and I think that I'll just sit and take it easy this afternoon.
Have a nice day..
Balisha
