Yesterday after Mass, we stopped at Subway to pick up a couple of sandwiches. Joe wanted to eat in a hurry, so that he could ask our neighbor to help him bring in the grill for the deck. We had the deck refinished last week and were anxious to get the grill back out there, so we could use it. Our neighbor was out working and came over to help Joe. Audra tagged along. She's always curious to see what's going on. After the work was done, she and I went into the living room. She said, "I probably won't have to buy jewelry for a long long time." When I asked why...she said, "I'm the luckiest girl in the world. My dad went to an auction at a mansion and bought me a whole bunch of jewelry." I chuckled and asked her if she thought her mom would let her bring it over to show me. She ran out of the house and was back lickety split...carrying a long plastic case full of jewelry. Her eyes fairly danced while opening it. We went through each pouch fingering and checking these pieces out. She found a pair of earrings that she thought I might like...little hummingbirds. I told her that they would look perfect on her and that she should keep them. She talked of gold and silver and precious stones. She hoped that her little friend, Jenna, would be able to come over and play dress up. She decided to go home and went past our organ. She asked if either Joe or I played. I told her that Joe bought it thinking he would take lessons long ago, but that he never did. She asked if she could try it out. So, being a Technics organ, you just have to push buttons to get any beat or instrument that you want, I showed her how to turn it on. What a concert we had. She clicked on the rhythms of the cha cha cha and quickly left the room and came back with our maracas. I was playing with the cha cha beat and she was whirling around like a whirling dervish shaking those maracas. She had always wanted to play our organ....I guess we didn't know. Later on, when she went home I thought to myself. This little girl is growing up before our eyes. I hope that they don't move away...I would like to see what she becomes.

That is So cute!
That is so sweet, Balisha. I hope you get to find out what she becomes. I hope you blog about it because now I, too, want to know!
What a cute girl! Wish we were closer to all our little (and two big) girls!
BTW, I do remember cinnamon toast with margarine, cinnamon and sugar on it for a treat during my growing up years. Still enjoy it once in a whle.
You did have fun and the children certainly help to keep us young don't they.
Wow, Audra is turning out to be a fine young lady! And you are keeping us updated... :)
We are home so much of the time and have enjoyed this little girl since she moved next door, when she had just turned 4. When she was small she would hop over and pay us a visit daily....but now since she's busy with school and it's activities her visits aren't so frequent. Now she will come over and say, "I haven't been here lately and I thought maybe you'd missed me." So cute. She and her brother, Bryce, are being raised with manners and respect for older people. I think her parents are doing a spectacular job.
