Our Wonderful Neighbor Kids

Here's Audra, helping me make cookies for Church. Here's Bryce cleaning our gutters last fall...after Joe's back surgery.

As Joe and I came down the road yesterday, after spending the afternoon with family....I saw a couple of kids with rakes in our yard. The kids next door were raking up all the branches that were scattered everywhere. Our River Birch drops tiny twigs and little branches every time the wind blows. You would think that with all the wind we've had lately, the loose ones would all be down. Yesterday, they were everywhere...on the lawn, in the flower beds, on our neighbor's lawn and clear out to the mailbox. I saw them in the morning as we drove away, and groaned, "Oh, not again...I just raked them up." Well, someone was looking out for me...little Audra and her brother Bryce came to the rescue. They were raking and had the back of their Gator heaped full of branches. The Gator is a 4 wheeled vehicle that Bryce drives around the yard doing his chores. His Dad uses it too....hauling things to the back of their property. When I spied them...I could have cried. I got out of the car and went over to help them...they said they didn't need help. I said, "You are just the best...I'm going to make you both an Easter treat." Bryce said, "Oh, you don't have to do that." Audra said, "Whatcha bringing over?"

How wonderful to see that there are kids who are so thoughtful. Obviously, the parents are raising them well. One usually only hears stories of kids in trouble.

It's wonderful to see such thoughtful kids; as Pat said, their parents have raised them well. I like Audra's practical side, too--hope you made her something extra special:)

Wonderful kids indeed! I am certain that their parents are proud of them and they should be proud, too, for having a good upbringing. I hope that these kids will stay the same when they are older. Kid's help is a big help and shouldn't be ignored, but keep an eye on them whenever they do risky stuff like cleaning the gutters. Have a great day!
