A Sentiment

God knew what He was doing when He sent a gentle breeze and brought a lovely butterfly to set my heart at ease. The happiness of your friendship and the gentleness of your words have touched my life in special ways and now I feel assured. Thank you for your loyalty and for reading everyday. I only hope you find things to make a happy day.

Bulb Planting Day

Planting Bulbs By Balisha

The morning was bright with a chill in the air..
There was so much to do...no time to spare.
Her old denim jacket that hung on the wall..
She'd need it now... for gardening this fall.
The bulbs were ready so plump and so hard..
She put them in a basket and went out in the yard.
The spot that she'd chosen was really so bare..
She hoped by Spring some flowers would be there.
The shovel and trowel and a bag full of food..
Hands in the earth just suited her mood.
She'd learned how to plant them in groups not a row..
With points sticking up how straight they would grow.
She sprinkled the food in the soil she put back..
And after tamping the earth, she crumpled the sack.
She watered them in with the old watering can..
A job well done....let's give her a hand.
A wind had come up and blew leaves around..
They soon had covered the bulbs in the ground.
She was chilled to the bone and quickened her pace..
She went straight to the house with a smile on her face.
She hung up her jacket on the hook on the wall..
The north winds could blow now and snowflakes could fall.
She went to her chair with the old heating pad..
She was getting so tired ...a good tired's not bad.
Her dreams through the winter will be of Spring flowers..
Of tulips and daffodils and warm weather showers.
Her old hands were rough and wrinkled I'll say..
A gardeners hands after bulb planting day.

What a lovely poem describing your day. Glad you got your bulbs in Balisha. I am still waiting on some of mine to be mailed.

I love this poem. You never cease to amaze me with your talent for writing them. Count me in on the hands thing. It was cold here today. My sister has gone to Florida and I had to water her outside plants. The wind was blowing the mist back on me and I was freezing. Turned the heat on for the first time. Have a good week. I hope your knee is o.k.
