I stopped at the little garden center in town yesterday afternoon. I was on my way to the grocery for Blue Bunny ice cream....on sale. I felt that I should stop and look at the flowers that were on sale as well. Everything looked like my garden...all bedraggled. Brown crisp leaves and stems withering. (I'm really exaggerating about the shape my garden is in. There are a few flowers like that, but most have done well.) It's just that little imp perfection...that creeps into my head once in a while. Well. I couldn't find anything and started down the brick walk toward the car. All at once, I spotted a bit of yellow in the far distance. It didn't look unsightly at all. Nice succulent leaves all yellow on top. I made my way across the sales yard and there she was...so shiny yellow and bright...if she could talk she would have said, "Take me home, please." It was a sedum. You know how I feel about sedums. I didn't have this particular variety. Her name is Angelina. She attracts butterflies. That's all I needed to know. I paid for my purchase and hurried home to put her in just the right pot. A blue bowl type planter. Joe drilled holes in the bottom just last year and I've been waiting for just the right plant for it. I love the yellow hanging down the sides of the blue bowl. She now has the choice spot in my front garden.Did I spot this beauty by chance ...or was it meant to be? I haven't stopped at that center all summer. Most of the flowers there... were all dried and this sedum was just about the liveliest plant for sale. I had just worked with my sedums here at home and planned to buy some other varieties next year. I think it was meant to be :)

Hi Balisha, what a cute little sedum, I don't have one like that. You chose a perfect container for it. Don't think I've ever met a sedum I didn't like:)
BTW, love your header. The perfect summertime photo.

She is beautiful - and yes it was meant to be. Have a wonderful day.
I think it was meant to be, too. You are right about the cold winter. I will take the heat! That pot is perfect for your new friend. I bet she loves her new home.
What a great little plant. Your flowers all look beautiful. I have to get to work on mine. I have a group that is using my home in three weeks for a party. What incentive to clean and garden! Wish that you could come and spread your magic on my home!
