A Sentiment

God knew what He was doing when He sent a gentle breeze and brought a lovely butterfly to set my heart at ease. The happiness of your friendship and the gentleness of your words have touched my life in special ways and now I feel assured. Thank you for your loyalty and for reading everyday. I only hope you find things to make a happy day.

Little Pansy, Oh So Small by Balisha

I went out in the garden..it was early in the day..
I had to do some weeding.. no time to really play.
I brought my bucket full of tools and my trusty garden chair..
I love to sit and weed and be in Spring's fresh air.
Sitting there all morning with my bucket getting full..
I listen for the birds in flight and daydream while I pull.
When I was getting finished and had to move my chair..
I saw a weed so all alone.. and I began to stare.
I moved a little closer and looked down on the walk..
A little Pansy.. with face so cute.. I thought heard her talk.
"Oh, please Balisha spare me.. for I have just survived..
To grow here in this crack.. I want to stay alive.
I want to bring some happiness to everyone who'll pass..
Surely you can leave me..I'm safe here near the grass."
I gave her words some thought.. and then decided, yes..
A flower tiny but so strong...she'd survive would be my guess.
I left her there to grow some more.. it wasn't very hard..
She wanted just to decorate her little corner of my yard.
A lesson that I learned today..our world could be so fine..
We can make our country beautiful...one small step at a time.
Balisha

Balisha..you touch my heart so completely sometimes! I loved your verse about that precious little pansy. I always look forward to them.
Thank you for stopping by and you KNOW that I would love to have an afternoon to shop with you and spend time sharing our lives.
At least we have our blogs..and I am grateful for the communication it offers us. I miss Patrick's sweet writings...and when I read yours it all comes back to me. Thank you.
Hugs,
Mona

We have begonias coming back from last summer next to our pansies that are starting to fade away. When it gets hot pansies just can't manage in Texas heat. I've 4flats of begonias that need to be planted but we have been so busy we just haven't had time. Got to make some soon. I know what you mean about never enough time.

Oh Balisha, I just love this poem and the message it sends to us all. I can just picture you there working and the thoughts you were having.

Balisha, love your poem. I always smile when a plant comes up where we do not expect it to. I knew you would let it stay - I would also:)
