We were sitting on the back deck for a change last night. The sky was telling me to grab my camera and take a picture. We could hear the birds winding down their busy days. We could hear the water running down the little waterfall on the pond next door. Birds were still flying back and forth from the woods....grabbing one last bite from our deck bird feeders. The house doors were open and Laddie was going in and out. He likes to bring his toys outside and tonight he chose his monkey. He watched the yard like a night watchman....checking out each corner. We don't sit on the deck as much as the front porch, because we like to visit with people going by.We decided to move to the front porch.
Now I have to say, it doesn't take much to entertain us at our age. The little girl next door has adopted us. I will be fixing a meal and look to my right and there is this little face peering in through the screen. "Can you come out to play?" she says? I have a pouting doll named Brad on the porch chair. Audra comes over every evening...if we're here or not...and puts this doll to bed. She takes the doll's shoes off and tucks him in. We may go out to sit on the porch and Joe says, "Audra's been here." So, last night, here was Brad, sound asleep on the bench. We didn't disturb him...in fact he's still there this morning...waiting for his friend to come over and put on his shoes and wake him up.
Another little girl has just started visiting and her name is Keeley. She is just getting acquainted with us. Very "Alice in Wonderland" looking. Always in a dress...very ladylike. We enjoy the little ones who come to visit us. Sometimes we may not feel like having kids around, but when they start talking to us, we get out of our "old age mood" and really find we are glad that they find us so amusing. They brighten our days and evenings. Tomorrow we will be driving to Wisconsin to be with most of my family. We will be on my daughter's lake enjoying all the kids. We did this last year and had fun watching everyone and talking, catching up on their busy lives. We have our fishing licenses and Joe is getting the fishing gear ready while I make some food. It should be a great 4th of July. I hope all of you have a great day...stay safe.

Happy 4th of July Balisha ... my little one came by yesterday, I surprised her with sidewalk chalk, we will decorate the rooftop garden walls :)
Have fun with your family.
She'll love that. I would too. Have a nice 4th.
How cute that she puts the doll to bed, and how nice to have a little visitor! What a neat story!
