A Sentiment

God knew what He was doing when He sent a gentle breeze and brought a lovely butterfly to set my heart at ease. The happiness of your friendship and the gentleness of your words have touched my life in special ways and now I feel assured. Thank you for your loyalty and for reading everyday. I only hope you find things to make a happy day.

Father's Day

My Dad was one of the sweetest men that ever lived. He took care of my Mom, who had Alzheimer's, for 10 yrs. at home. He did everything for her. Insisted that they go out to lunch every day. She loved new clothes...he saw to it that she had new clothes up till the end of her life. He dressed her and made sure she looked good. One day I walked in and he was painting her nails. He took her to hair appointments. She loved reading cookbooks and when she went blind...he read them to her...picked out recipes that he could handle and did the shopping. When she finally had to go to a care center...he visited every day. He wasn't driving a car anymore, so if one of the family couldn't take him, he walked or went by taxi. We had many years with him. He loved us all and set an example for our family about what it means to be married and how to be a parent.

What wonderful memories. I have such sweet memories of my Dad - I only had him for 18 years, but I have always measured men by him.

Everyone agrees with me about my Dad. He really had few faults I can't think of one, other that he did let people take advantage of him... once in a while. He was a Christian and lived the Christian life.
