A Sentiment

God knew what He was doing when He sent a gentle breeze and brought a lovely butterfly to set my heart at ease. The happiness of your friendship and the gentleness of your words have touched my life in special ways and now I feel assured. Thank you for your loyalty and for reading everyday. I only hope you find things to make a happy day.

Church...Cookies and Painting

Today is a Holy Day in our Church. The Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary...so we will be in Church at noon.

I was going to start putting the dough together for Christmas cookies. This year I am not baking all the chocolate, peanut butter etc. cookies. Just traditional Christmas cookies. I just read on Britt's blog about cookie making in Norway. I loved the sweet, simple, buttery cookies that her husband made yesterday. Sometimes we get so elaborate and really simple is better. I have all the ingredients in the house, so when I am finished here, that is what I will do.

I have been doing some watercolor painting this past week. It is so relaxing...when things go right. I ran out of watercolor paper and substituted with some inexpensive paper from our store in town. I couldn't get anything to work. I needed the good paper, so after Church we will go to the big city and visit a craft store and get my supplies. We are getting a snowstorm tomorrow, so I will be in my comfy home with paper to paint on and a yummy cookie to eat.

Oh, Margie....I cannot tell a lie...those cookies were taken from the internet. I wish mine could turn out that beautiful. Maybe I will take more time with mine and post a picture. Having some trouble with camera...so we'll see. Sorry, I didn't mean to fool you.

I am not doing the cookie marathon either, chocolate chip was requested ... but I like your idea of a traditional cutout cookie. I can't wait to see your new watercolor.

Hi Ohiomom,
I really like to make cookies, but I don't like to waste them...they are costly and time consuming to make. We end up giving some to the birds each year.I used to give them to our kids, but they make their own with their families....so that's the reason for me to cut down.
My camera isn't working well..(hint, hint, Santa) I will have to see how it does and then will put a picture here. Maybe after Christmas, as some of these are gifts for family.

Well, all I can say is...my dog is the only reason that I could say that I don't like to bake cookies. He is so big and all he has to do is come through the room and put his nose up on the counter and eat a whole tray.
