A Sentiment

God knew what He was doing when He sent a gentle breeze and brought a lovely butterfly to set my heart at ease. The happiness of your friendship and the gentleness of your words have touched my life in special ways and now I feel assured. Thank you for your loyalty and for reading everyday. I only hope you find things to make a happy day.

The Church Mice are at it Again

Well....we finished it. Here is the decorated cornucopia. It was a struggle for us to finish it. The directions sounded easy, but they were written for a small one...not the huge one that we made. It is built on a framework of chicken wire and foil. Burlap is then glued on the frame that is to be pulled out when dry. I brought it home, after it dried, and tried to pull it out. It started falling apart. I re glued after stuffing the frame and foil deep inside . The glue wouldn't hold so it was wired and pinned. When the glue finally dried the wire and pins were stuck also. Finally, as a last resort, I took my needle, that I use on turkeys, and proceeded to sew the whole thing. It was stiff as a board and I had to use pliers to pull the needle through. and it worked. It was the hardest craft project that I have ever done. Our arts and environment committee met at the Church yesterday to put it all together. Five women gathered and had a wonderful time decorating. We have a leader who can delegate work and everything goes so smoothly. We all had the same vision and here are the results.
Our Catholic Church changes with the many seasons. Soon it will be Christmas and this year we are doing all new things. We get so excited...bouncing ideas off each other. Our Priest is wonderful and loves the things the committee does to beautify God's House.

What a beautiful arrangement for the fall. Great job Balisha & the rest of the church mice. It sounds like it was a challenging project. :)

You ladies did a great job. The colors are very nice and autumn-ish. I think it looks very nice there.

Your cornucopia is beautiful, brought tears to my eyes remembering as a child the wonder of Christmas at our Catholic Church, and I never gave a thought to the church mice who did all that work.

Looks pretty. I remember my Catholic elementary school friends had such fun decorating the altar for the holidays. Yes, we were allowed to be creative!

All your efforts have really paid off. It is just beautiful and I am sure your church will enjoy it all during the holidays. What talented little mice you all turned out to be!

Thanks to everyone for your wonderful comments.Churches are all so beautiful and so different in many ways.Yesterday, when we were decorating the sun was shining through those stained glass windows... and one of the girls said, "This is my favorite time of the day in Church." These girls are all younger than I am and so much fun to work with. They bring their little kids along.
