Here he is...the man of the hour. I think that he is doing remarkably well. He was to be sent home from the hospital the next day after having his hip replaced, but had to stay an extra day for an issue not related to the hip. They had him up and walking hours after surgery. People were coming in his room right and left... occupational therapists and physical therapists etc...bumping into each other with their treatments. A quick step up on a wide step...learning how to use the walker....learning how to get in and out of bed....take care of his daily grooming....and how to cope with pain. My head was in a swirl...and so was his. So, we came home yesterday and his son was here to see him into the back door with steps. He was just there...in case he was needed...Joe did the work Our first night was a little rough with him having to get up many times...so sleep was fleeting. Tired this morning, but so glad the first day is over with no problems to speak of. Everyday will get better ....Tomorrow the physical therapist-visiting nurse will be here to put him through his paces. It's going to be wonderful to have a husband who doesn't hurt...
The picture is deceiving...that's him a couple of years ago, learning how to bake a cake. He's not ready for kitchen duty yet.
Thanks to all of you who have sent your best wishes and for the many prayers for us.You bloggers are wonderful...love you guys.

Doing fine...
I am so glad he's back home with you to take care of him. Hopefully everything will go smoothly with his physical therapy.
Take good care of him, Balisha. I know you will!
Glad he's doing well at home!
Glad to hear he's home and on the mend.
Seeing that picture, I thought WOW Joe's doing fantastic!

I was going to say (about the picture) - wow! That's a man that just had his hip replaced?! Glad to hear he's doing as well as can be expected though. That's pretty major surgery. A woman I know had that surgery last year and is now doing fantastic. No more pain and feels so good that she joined a gym and has lost a ton of weight.
My gosh--is he superman or something? After my last hip replacement, I was in hospital 4 days and then on to rehab for another 4 before I got home. Keep taking the pain pills Joe and don't shirk your physical therapy--it really pays off!!!
