A Sentiment

God knew what He was doing when He sent a gentle breeze and brought a lovely butterfly to set my heart at ease. The happiness of your friendship and the gentleness of your words have touched my life in special ways and now I feel assured. Thank you for your loyalty and for reading everyday. I only hope you find things to make a happy day.

Thanksgiving Memories

Thanksgiving is almost over and today I have had so many family memories going through my head. The only one that still hurts is pictured above. Tim wanted to learn to carve a turkey, so he went to the guy who was a pro...the former meat cutter, Joe. Joe taught Tim how to carve... using Joe's knives. We brought them along, when we went for dinner. You can see how interested Tim is in how Joe did it. Tim has the bald head, by the way. We spent several Happy Thanksgivings with Tim and his family. Tim was very laid back and so easy to get along with....I learned this, when I married Joe. My kids loved their Dad so deeply. When he got cancer and passed away, after a year....they were devastated.  When I decided to get married again, Tim was the first of my kids to accept Joe.I realize now how hard it was for them to take to this new person in their mom's life. It was still so fresh in their minds. Tim knew that Joe wasn't trying to take his Dad's place, but was trying so hard to just be accepted. He and Joe formed a special friendship... quickly. Tim was one of those people who could make you not take yourself so seriously. He saw the fun in life. I miss him always...but especially today.

Holidays bring up lots of things we will never forget, and shouldn't. And sadness creeps in. Hugs to you.

Those first holidays without a loved one are bittersweet ~ sadness balanced with gratitude for the time you had together. Tim was truly a treasure and those memories will be with you always.

Glad you have such wonderful memories tucked in your heart.

It was hard when I came home from being out with my husband's family yesterday. The missing him and the loneliness were almost too much.

Love and hugs to you dear Balisha.

Holidays stir up thoughts and feelings we can keep at bay during the regular Monday thru Friday life.
Bless you, Balisha.

The presence of absence is so overwhelming--especially during the holidays. I imagine now, all your children are happy you have someone in your life--some to help you and make you happy.
