A Sentiment

God knew what He was doing when He sent a gentle breeze and brought a lovely butterfly to set my heart at ease. The happiness of your friendship and the gentleness of your words have touched my life in special ways and now I feel assured. Thank you for your loyalty and for reading everyday. I only hope you find things to make a happy day.

Yesterday

We were working on the evergreens yesterday morning. Nice morning for this job...a day that we had been waiting for. Joe was working the electric trimmer and I was on cleanup detail . We worked so hard and now it's done and off our minds. The shrubs look really nice now.
While we were working, we got a call from Joe's son...he asked if we would like a tour of his new dealership in Rockford? (He's the service director for Anderson Lexus-Toyota in Rockford.) We were getting tired and our chairs were looking mighty good right about then, but we said "sure" and after our work we cleaned up and drove to Rockford to meet him. We looked around and found it to be a beautiful building....I would imagine the biggest of all the auto dealerships. ...with Toyota on one side of the building and Lexus on the other...all interconnected. Everything was coordinated beautifully from the stone work on the outside and again inside, to the floor treatments, to the furniture in the waiting room and offices...to the plantings surrounding the building. Coreopsis, Russian Sage, Lilies, rose bushes, and other shrubbery. They are having to constantly water these plantings, because of the excessive heat. This place has been in the works for over a year and now it is finally open. I'll tell you how big it is....we took a driving tour, inside the building, to see it all. The sales people said that they are getting a workout from all the walking.  Mark took us to lunch at a nearby restaurant...we all had salads... and then back to work for him. This has been a lot of stress for him, but now we hope with the opening...he will relax a little bit.
After that we went on to our favorite grocery.. close by. We loaded up on fresh veggies and fruits. We were out of everything and our cart showed it. Now we have choices again. We got home...finally....and put things away. We sat and rested and it felt good to have a couple of our tasks for the week done and out of the way. This morning my arms are so stiff...from the tugging on the rake. I can't get over the effect of doing something different...using different muscles...has on my body. "Old age ain't for sissies"  as they say.

You certainly had a full day! You accomplished a lot. How nice that Mark wanted to share his new place with you two. I don't think I could have kept up with you.
