Planting Houseplants in My New Pots

If you've read my posts lately, I mentioned that I ordered 4 large Guy Wolff pots. I went to different websites and found all different prices. I settled on Amazon, where I think that I got the best price. The day the box came by UPS, I noticed a little noise when I jiggled the box. When I opened it...one of the 4 was broken. This was due to the makers of the pots not packing them all the same way. The other 3 were upside down, with wrapping all around the pot and on the bottom and top. This one was just stuck in the box with a few pieces of packing paper inside the pot. I was dreading sending it back. It's always such a hassle. I came in on got on the computer and went to the Amazon site and told them about my problem. It went as easy as can be. I had to send the 4 pots back in their original wrapping and copy a packing slip to enclose with the pots. They contacted UPS and scheduled a time for them to pick all 4 up. The driver would bring a shipping label. Then I got an email saying my new pots were on the way to me. The broken pot went out the door on one day and the new ones came in the next. Easy peasy....I am so pleased with Amazon's prices and service.

Here is the picture of the kind of pots I ordered. For some of you, who like things shiny and new looking....you probably won't like them. I tend to go for more natural shabby things in the garden, so I am pleased with my purchase. I had a couple of plants that had outgrown their pots...so two of them have those plants in them. Of course, being a gardener...I had to fill the other two. A trip to a garden center was called for. I had to stop at Walmart first....and that is where I ended up buying my plants. They just had a shipment come in, and the plants were really nice. This morning, I spent time planting these pots. I gave all my plants a bit of new potting soil. I love it when they all look fresh and new.I replanted my Christmas cactus that was chewed on...on my front porch. Some little rodent (I won't name names) got into it and dug holes and tipped it over and broke off new stems. Now it is much smaller than before. I put it in a hanging basket and it will go back on the porch... The new plants are in quarantine, however, until I can be sure that they don't have any little pests. Whew, that took me most of the morning....and today is the day I have to feed my orchids. By the way....they all have new little green roots starting, so they must like their new home. So far... so good.

Yes I like them but always a nuisance when things arrive broken. Glad it was hassle free though. I always find Amazon exceptional service.

Now I really like those Balisha. I am a rustic kid of girl. LOL! Or maybe that is rusty.
I am amazed that you got the broken pot settled so easily. That is good customer service.

I love the new pots you must post a picture of your things in their new home! I just did a clean up on a curley fern that actually belonged to Tom's grandmother. Now I have enough to give to all the family. It was so big and root bound, I just hope I can keep it growing like my Mother-in-Law did...

Putting your Christmas Cactus in a hanging basket is a great idea! It probably thinks it is back in the canopy of the rain forest. Depending on how large it is maybe it could be held over the kitchen sink and sprayed with the spray nozzle if your sink has one. I knew someone who dunked her orchids in the sink of water to water them, then hung them on something above it and let them drip a while. I like the pots, too. Too hot and humid to do much around here these days - this humidity has been unbelievable.

No "shiny, new" for me either. I love the rustic look. Just beautiful! I also have had wonderful luck with Amazon. I bought some Halloween things..and they are quick to make anything right that is wrong.
Again...OH GREAT ONE! Thank you so much for all your help with my blog. Such a helpless feeling when you cannot, for the life of you, figure out what is wrong. :)
I am not the most computer savy person in the world..
So..thank you once again for taking the time to help!
Love,
Mona
