A Sentiment

God knew what He was doing when He sent a gentle breeze and brought a lovely butterfly to set my heart at ease. The happiness of your friendship and the gentleness of your words have touched my life in special ways and now I feel assured. Thank you for your loyalty and for reading everyday. I only hope you find things to make a happy day.

I Had A Visitor

I was working in the yard this morning...in the back. I was in the process of tying up the clematis. It's growing like a weed. I looked up...feeling like something was watching me and looked in the direction of the woods.....and there she was, munching on my hosta. A doe...so beautiful in my garden. She looked at me and went back to her eating. I stood like a statue, wanting to take in this beautiful creature. I didn't care that she was eating the hosta. We have known that deer visit our woods. We see the tracks in the snow and I have found places where the grasses are matted down...where they lay. We've seen one on the hill behind the woods and Joe has a picture of a couple in the yard before I lived here. I'm such a nut about wildlife...I wanted to run in the house and tell Joe, but didn't want my visitor to leave. She was here quite a long time, before she scampered into the yard next door and up the hill. I went in the house to get Joe. The deer waited for him to see her. She wasn't in any hurry to leave, but scampered down the other side of the hill toward the side of the road where the river is. This sighting made my day....and there I was without the camera.
I worked in all the gardens today...and my work is finished for the weekend. Everything looks so fresh and green. The beds are weed free. I worked on the woods border and cut down some of the taller weeds. From the house...it looks really neat this year. Everything has grown by leaps and bounds. Coming down our road is especially pretty this time of year. The honey locusts are blooming...they are everywhere here in Byron. Tomorrow I will take my camera out and do a walk about to show you my yard. I read in one bloggers post that she doesn't like to see so many close ups of flowers...she would like to see where these flowers are blooming in our yards. That's what I'm going to do.
Have a nice night...Balisha

I love to watch them too. I just do not want them in my garden.LOL!
I very seldom take shots of my garden beds and mostly close ups of the flowers. I guess I just like to see the flowers but maybe I should think more about shots of the beds.

Isn't that how it always is Balisha, never a camera when needed. ;) I had one standing in the middle of my street a month or so ago and my dogs were going crazy. lol

Deer are so beautiful Balisha. Glad you got to enjoy the doe in your yard.
