A Sentiment

God knew what He was doing when He sent a gentle breeze and brought a lovely butterfly to set my heart at ease. The happiness of your friendship and the gentleness of your words have touched my life in special ways and now I feel assured. Thank you for your loyalty and for reading everyday. I only hope you find things to make a happy day.

Shopping for Flowers

This picture was an afterthought. I went shopping with Kathy this morning, for flowers for Mary's Garden. She is our master gardener and likes to have someone along to help her with ideas for colors. We had such a good time...spending the Church's money :) We selected some burgundy spikes, pink wave petunias (as you can see) some sage plants, a couple of begonias, a sweet potato vine, geraniums and some that I forgot. I'll take better pictures when we plant. Kathy is short and I am tall. I am a good one to take along...I can reach waaaaaaay back on the shelves and pull out the best plants. We filled two carts and the back of her big SUV. We had fun talking about gardening and went to lunch. I had a half a chicken salad sandwich and a cup of stuffed green pepper soup. The soup was great...a tomato basil base, with lots of rice, hamburger, onion and strips of green pepper. You know how stuffed green peppers sometimes get so juicy? This soup tasted just like the juice that you spoon over the peppers before serving. I'm going to attempt to recreate this recipe. I loved it. We had a great morning...isn't it fun to shop with friends for our gardens?

Balisha that grotto is going to look so pretty when you get done with it. You got some wonderful plants for the beds around it. You must show pictures later when it is planted. Have a wonderful weekend!

sounds like a very nice day Balisha!

Unless I'm with my two oldest daughters who are about an inch taller than me, I'm usually the tallest one around and do the reaching too when I'm out shopping with other women.

Hi Balisha,

Sounds like so much fun. I used to love shopping at Home Depot's nursery with my company's credit card :-)

Isn't it great spending for gardening when you don't have to be paying.

I am sure the end result will be beautiful.

Cannot remember if I answered your question or not but the tree in my garden(photo) is a Crab Apple. It is old. We have been here 33 years and it was here long before us.
