A Sentiment

God knew what He was doing when He sent a gentle breeze and brought a lovely butterfly to set my heart at ease. The happiness of your friendship and the gentleness of your words have touched my life in special ways and now I feel assured. Thank you for your loyalty and for reading everyday. I only hope you find things to make a happy day.

Decorating the House for Easter

Miss B was just sitting in her rocking chair, with her bunny pillow, watching me whirl around the room with a basket of Easter decorations. She was given to me by my daughter a long time ago. The pillow was a gift from my backdoor neighbor, Ruth. The first thing that I decorated was the Easter tree. I decorate these branches for several holidays. I mix pussy willow branches in with the others in the Spring. Some of the eggs were hand painted by me. It sits on our dining room table.
This shelf is over my kitchen sink. I look at it whenever I cook and clean up the kitchen. It is crammed with bunnies. I can remember each bunny and who gave it to me. I have never bought an Easter decoration for my house. These are all precious to me. The big bunnies to the right with the big eyes are the first ones given to me. A dear friend gave them to me for my birthday years ago. The tiny white bunny and the clear glass ones were given to me by my sons. The picture of the bunny was a present from another dear friend.

My son and his family visited Disney World and brought me some bunnies and this cute bouncy chick. I've had it for years...it always hangs by my kitchen sink. When I go to do dishes...I give it a tap and he bounces.

The mantle must stay just as it is. Joe's collection of water fowl and the statues of our two dogs make their home there. I just mix some ivy and Easter eggs in with the figures. I need to replace those candles and add a bit more greenery to this. The little reddish egg came from my daughter in DC. It is a replica of the Easter Egg roll on the White House lawn during the Clinton administration.

I have more places to decorate....but that's for another day. I try to decorate in special places in my home...not all over like I used to. It's easier to put things out and put them away for me. I do a bit in the kitchen, living room, dining room and the guest bath. I love seeing all the houses decorated in blog pictures and remember back to when I used to do the same thing. I'll post more pictures as I do it. This is the final picture...Here's Mr. Duck. He's never stepped a foot outdoors. He doesn't know it's raining out...loves to wear his "shades"
