Balisha's Hair...Elenka...You had to ask..

I know some of you are curious about my hair growth. The first week in September...this is what my head looked like. Here I am today. It's growing...but not too fast. The scar is covered and doesn't itch anymore. Just call me fuzzy.
It has been a few months of my feelings about my hair...going up and down. At first I was OK with it. Then as it started to grow, I felt the loss. People would tell me how lucky I had been and I started to shape up. Now I have to say...the last 3 months have been heaven for me..in a way. I have been able to roll out of bed and not do a thing to it. I can be ready and at the door at a moments notice. Joe says, "Let's go," and I'm the first one out the door. It's getting to the stage, where I can spike it, use the curling iron (a little) blow dry it, all the things that I did before. I have been told that this short hair makes me look younger. Someone said, "The way you styled your hair before made you look old." An honest person...now why didn't she tell me before?

I think that I will keep it rather short. I have enjoyed not having to fool with it. I haven't had to run back in the house and check to see if I unplugged the curling iron. You've all heard the phrase..."A woman's hair is her crowning glory." During Bibical days hair was very important. You never see women of the Bible with short hair. Women covered their hair too.Maybe something to do with the head being the crown, and because the hair covers it...the crowning glory? Today it's just a superficial impression. The glory of a real woman must be her character, her personality, not the way she looks. Of course, since we live in a shallow world, I think the glory of a woman's BODY is her eyes and their expression..."The eyes are the reflection of the soul" by Pablo Neruda.... I'm with you Pablo!

Hello Balisha,

I think you are absolutely right. It is what is on the inside that is important. I do love your short hair though :^)

What a great post. I think that you look beautiful! I agree with the eyes. Beauty comes from within.

I love it, too, and I do think it makes you look younger. WOW, you look just great! You have such a pretty face and skin. I loved the way you wore it before and used to think I wish I could wear mine like yours but now I like this much better. I am so glad it is back and you are doing so well.

I do too, Balisha! Of course, I have to admit I keep mine very short. And...you do look younger with short hair. :)

Aw shucks...you guys...as she blushes. I wasn't fishing for compliments...I put my picture here for one of my kids who lives in another state (she likes to see my progress) and also one who lives here and gets a kick out of showing his friends how his Mom looks. Now...back to Christmas.

You look just great, like the new hairdo. I can relate to hair loss and how bad I felt when it started, but today I just comb it and with a little spray it stays in place, women are more vain then men. Have a nice Christmas.

Balisha, you look great. God is so Good!!! I have to agree with the younger look.
But then I have only seen a few pictures of you. You are doing great. Merry Christmas to you.

Wow, Balisha, you look fabulous! I really do like your hair short like that. I wish I had hair that was a no fuss style. No way I do it, is it no fuss.
Thanks for answering my question!!

Balisha...first you look fantastic. I don't wear my hair that short, it's to my shoulders but I NEVER use a curling iron and haven't for..years. I have one..I have even plugged it in..(just the other day)then unplugged it and forgot it.
I usually pull it back in a clip or fold it up on my head. I cut it myself.. :) (yeah, I know!)
Anyway...my hair used to drive me crazy..not anymore. I don't dye it..don't curl it, nothing. I wash it..how it dries is how it looks. Wash and wear.
I LOVE the color..but then..we match! :) Listen..you are alive..I am alive..what else matter is like they say..WHO we are in our hearts.
Not that it matters..but short hair cuts are coming back.
I might cut mine short again...who knows.
YOU are looking just wonderul.

Thank you for your kind words on my post. I cringed when I saw what I had done. I was just embarrassed. Some of these wonderful ladies in our blogging world..know their stuff when it comes to stuff like that. No matter... even if they noticed it..they are too kind to say anything. :) Don'cha love it? :):)

Now I am curious to see what you do as it grows. Long? Mid? Short? REAL short?! No matter what, you are going to look great!!
Hugs,
Mona

Balisha, I never knew you prior to your surgery, so I cannot comment on your past hair-do, so I think you look just fine! It will fill in even more, depending on your hair growth cycle and you will eventually get it to the length you feel is best for you.

I think I am a "slow grower" and when I have a short cut, it takes months and months to grow out even to a bob. I have learned NOT to go short anymore- Too much work for my baby fine hair- hair products, the curling iron... I do the blow/dry round brush now.

I hope you are enjoying this blessed time. I am doing much better w/this concussion of mine, but still am experiencing vertigo. At least I got the house decorated before Dan got home from CA.

Take care, my friend, and have a Merry Christmas!
hugs, Sue
