A Sentiment

God knew what He was doing when He sent a gentle breeze and brought a lovely butterfly to set my heart at ease. The happiness of your friendship and the gentleness of your words have touched my life in special ways and now I feel assured. Thank you for your loyalty and for reading everyday. I only hope you find things to make a happy day.

Joe's Reunion and the Peace Prize

Hi...If you had told me 6 weeks ago that we would be going to Joe's 55th reunion tonight and tomorrow...I would have said, "You're crazy." Here we are getting ready to leave for the hotel. The cocktail party is tonight and the reunion tomorrow. The weather isn't cooperating, but it won't dampen the spirits. Joe and I are going to have fun.

On a more serious note...I awoke this morning to the news that President Obama has won the Nobel Peace Prize. The Nobel Committee lauded the change in global mood wrought by Obama's calls for peace and cooperation but recognized initiatives that have yet to bear fruit: reducing the world stock of nuclear arms, easing American conflicts with Muslim nations and strengthening the U.S. role in combating climate change.
"Only very rarely has a person to the same extent as Obama captured the world's attention and given its people hope for a better future," Jagland said.
Obama's election and foreign policy moves caused a dramatic improvement in the image of the U.S. around the world. A 25-nation poll of 27,000 people released in July by the Pew Global Attitudes Project found double-digit boosts to the percentage of people viewing the U.S. favorably in countries around the world. Obama is the third sitting U.S. president to win the award: President Theodore Roosevelt won in 1906 and President Woodrow Wilson was awarded the prize in 1919. In the days to come, I hope he keeps this award in mind as he makes decisions for our country. I say...hooray for President Obama. Keep up the good work.

It was a surprise but hopefully one he can live up too. I believe he does his best, but no matter who is in office people are going to criticize. Somehow I doubt McCain would have won this award.

Have a nice week-end Balisha : )

A surprising but great choice for the price! I expect great things from him and would have done so even if he didn´t get the price.

Yes, the world noow looks much more positive on the USA than the world have done in many years and thet is much because of him.
Have a great day now!
Christer.

I was surprised Mr. Obama won the Peace Prize, and it seems he was surprised too, but I'm very happy for him and for our country.
