A Sentiment

God knew what He was doing when He sent a gentle breeze and brought a lovely butterfly to set my heart at ease. The happiness of your friendship and the gentleness of your words have touched my life in special ways and now I feel assured. Thank you for your loyalty and for reading everyday. I only hope you find things to make a happy day.

God's World on Rainy.. Dreary.. Days

Some days must be dark and dreary...without rain the flowers wouldn't grow and the rivers and lakes would dry up. “Darkness is as essential to our biological welfare, to our internal clockwork, as light itself. Plants would bear weak and tasteless fruit without water, and there's no reason to believe that we're all that different. Life holds us in its hand, if we let it. And the rainy days help us to grow, if we let them.

These days test our faith..sometimes we may feel that we haven't much strength...yet our faith tells us that when we put our trust in God, we'll have the strength to do anything. God is always there with us, caring for us, loving us, supporting us . Our faith assures us that if we give the situation to God, all will turn out for the best, according to His will. The dark and dreary days can shut out the light...we can turn it on by looking out the window at the wonderful world. The dripping of the rain off a leaf on the tree, out in the front yard for instance. At the restaurant this weekend I saw, out the window, a fruit tree full of robins....probably getting their fill of red berries before migration. Out the back window I see a bird feeder full of seeds and birds of different kinds. Nuthatches, chickadees, and doves. They carry on through these rainy days just like they do on sunny days. Out the garage door I can see little critters and insects in my driveway garden...carrying on just like yesterday. Across the street the dove sits on the roof...coo, coo they go. People go by in their cars...going to work, school, the grocery store the same as before. Maggie and Laddie used to love going out in the rain. They seemed to take more time moseying around and sniffing. We would be in a hurry and pull on the leash a bit, to hurry them. They would look up with quizzical looks like, "What's the hurry, Mom? I'm having fun." We all get down once in a while. We only have to look out the window and see God's wonderful world. The fall colors take on a muted tone on dark and dreary days. Easier on the eyes. A nice change. Well, I am going to put on my coat and take my umbrella and go for a walk in the rain.

Balisha, rain here in Tennessee also. My new building site is like a swamp in some areas.
Loved your sharing and I walked Callie in the rain this morning.
What would we do without prayer and our Lord. No way could One Woman make it!!!

Hello,

What a meaningful post. If we did not have rainy days, how can we appreciate the sunny ones? I think our human nature makes us want what we don't have. Here in Arizona, we rejoice when it rains and get tired of sunny days.

Hello you two,
Ernestine..Thanks for reading. Sometimes I think the Lord sends us rain to slow gardeners down.We need to get housework done too.

Hi azplantlady...
My husband was grumbling that he thinks we get more cloudy days than sunny.I agree with you...we are never satisfied.
