A Sentiment

God knew what He was doing when He sent a gentle breeze and brought a lovely butterfly to set my heart at ease. The happiness of your friendship and the gentleness of your words have touched my life in special ways and now I feel assured. Thank you for your loyalty and for reading everyday. I only hope you find things to make a happy day.

55th Reunion

I'll tell you a funny story. Five years ago, when we went to the 50th reunion, we went down to the room at the hotel and noticed all these "old" people milling around. Joe, who thinks he's still a kid, said to me, "Balisha, I think we are in the wrong room...these people are old looking." I laughed and told him to go look in the mirror. He hadn't seen some of these people in 50 years and it was a shock to him. :)
The 55th Reunion

We had a class reunion most everybody came..

When it's the 55th the party can be tame.

We started with a lunch at a restaurant with some "girls"..

Remembering their names put our old brains in a whirl.

We went up to the room and dressed in clothing new..

An outfit that was stylish and a pair of comfy shoes.

We walked down to the party when everybody came..

I wondered to myself..why is this party tame?

We worked the room and found that we really didn't know..

The names of many classmates we laughed and told them so.

The laughing started getting loud and everyone was talking..

The guys were seeing some old flames that one day they were stalking.

The "girls" had hair of gray and very snazzy clothes..

Trying to remember thoughts of old flames I suppose.

The party was now ending and we were getting tired..

But first we ate at Bennigans for we were really wired.

The party ended after eating, and we went up to our room..

We had a king sized bed which brought us so much gloom.

It wasn't very comfortable so hard that we lost sleep..

I went searching for a blanket around the room I creeped.

The night went on for hours while watching clocks all lit ..

When morning came at last we hadn't slept bit.

We got ourselves all ready for the busy day ahead..

I wanted just to sleep and stay in bed instead.

We went to breakfast at a place we used to go to eat..

Then on to the reunion early.. so we could find a seat.

The partying went on and on throughout the early day..

The tables were so pretty and we ate without delay.

The program was so full of fun and prizes given away..

We visited some more and wanted just to stay.

We hugged and then said our good byes to friends that we had met..

We'll be back again in five years on that you can only bet.

In the car while driving home Joe turned to me and said..

Who was that guy I was talking to ..I think his name is Fred?

We went to Joe's reunion from high school. It's a big deal for him. He keeps the data base for the class. I was busy taking pictures during the two days. I won't post any pictures here, because you wouldn't know anyone. A classmate has a blog just for the pictures. If you want to take a peak...here is the address...

Hi Balisha, I would not know anyone that I graduated with years ago. I have lost touch with them all. Sounds like you all had a good time meeting up with old classmates again. Regarding the camp fires. We used to have huge camp fires when we lived on the farm and I would make a big old iron pot full of chili. We would make popcorn and roast peanuts and stay out there most of the night. It was so much fun. I don't remember singing any songs though! It is raining cats and dogs here today. Looks more like winter all the time.

Hi Judy and Pat.
We wouldn't have known them either had they not had name tags (an important thing for reunions) Judy your campfires sound like so much fun.It is usually cold and that food sounds great for cold weather. It's raining a little bit here today too.

Balisha! My husband's high school class just had their 50th reunion on the weekend of Oct. 1-3.

I know what you mean about the names...Oh Lordy. His class has kept together for years and we meet once a month for dinner at a hamburger place...all our old hangouts are gone now.

The committee made badges with our names on it. If the person was in the 1959 graduating class they put a picture of them taken from that year's annual...and their name. I didn't graduate with that class so mine said "Guest" and my name. Those of us who go to the monthly things have decided we need to wear them every month. It is so funny each month with us whispering to each other...."Who was that guy who just left?"

I hope you really did have a good time. We did....even if we didn't really look so much like we used to.

Oh yes...it gave me a great chance to buy some neat new clothes. And that is always a good thing. I'd gotten out of practice and also surprisingly enough I wasn't as slender as I was before I quit smoking and before I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis and have to take prednisone everyday. Oh well. It was fun and pretty funny, too.

Gadzooks.
We had our 40th reunion 3 years ago...I didn't go as I moved far away, but that didn't erase the fact that it is 43 years since graduation. Where does the time go????
Sounds like you had fun and that's great.

I missed my last reunion but a friend got lots of photos. It was surprising how many I recognized.

I like Judy, I would not know anyone I graduated with years ago.
I went to high school in Michigan.
I agree with Joe - everyone would probably look so old that we never could have been in their class - lol.
I graduated at 17.

Joe sent the pictures to a fellow classmate in Florida. He didn't attend because of a trip to Rome. He called this morning and said that the pictures looked like they were taken in a nursing home. He turned to his wife and said,"Do I look like that?" She said, "No honey." SMART WOMAN!...she's quite a bit younger that he is.
