A Sentiment

God knew what He was doing when He sent a gentle breeze and brought a lovely butterfly to set my heart at ease. The happiness of your friendship and the gentleness of your words have touched my life in special ways and now I feel assured. Thank you for your loyalty and for reading everyday. I only hope you find things to make a happy day.

Observations From My Porch

Early morning...September 10th.

I'm sitting on my porch this misty morning. The dew is on the grass. A mourning dove coos from the roof across the street. Coo..coo..coo. What a mournful sound. Our neighborhood is waking up today. First comes a sporty guy in his workout suit...jogging. When he sees me he slows and stares. Then he waves and says hello. He goes zipping by. A bee wakes up in the garden by the drive. Buzz...buzz..buzz.....he goes from tiny purple flower to purple flower. I notice a spider web in the garden. It is covered with dew. The droplets hang on individual strands making a design on the web. Woof...woof...woof....come the dog walkers. A young couple, from across the street, are walking their two dogs plus one new one. I say, "Hello....where did he come from?" We're taking care of him...she says. His name is Rocky...a good name for this bruiser. They let them in the gate and start to throw the ball. A early morning lawn mower is heard in the distance...vroom..vroom..vroom ( do you like my sound effects?) A school bus rattles down the street stopping and picking up kids on their corners. Kids with backpacks on their backs. Kids in bright colors, hair combed, scrubbed faces, excitedly talking about the day ahead. A Mom goes by with a new fashioned stroller. The baby inside is waving and I am thinking, is she warm enough? Once a Mom...always a Mom. She goes by and then I hear laughing and talking. A young woman looks like she is talking to herself. She is actually on the phone, talking loudly, and laughing to her friend. Is everyone on the phone nowadays? It seems we are all plugged in. By now the sun is out and it is getting warmer. Time for me to go in and start the day. Laddie will be home today for a trial stay. We have to get ready. But first a poem.

Early Morning on the Porch

The sounds of early morning sing into my waiting ear..

I listen ever closely to everything I hear.

A bee, a dog, a mower, on down the road a bit..

A dove up on the rooftop, a place for him to sit.

My ears pick up the sounds of the world just waking up..

On this day so happy for us...we'll go to get our pup.
Good News....It's Benign! Got the pathology report back...

Oh Balisha! I am so happy for you. I know you have been awaiting the outcome and it is wonderful! Now, all you have to do is just keep on getting better every day and this will all be behind you. I love your sounds of the morning. They made me visualize everything much better. I truly believe that everything that happens to us, happens for a reason. One day you will understand all of this. Love and hugs, Judy
