A Sentiment

God knew what He was doing when He sent a gentle breeze and brought a lovely butterfly to set my heart at ease. The happiness of your friendship and the gentleness of your words have touched my life in special ways and now I feel assured. Thank you for your loyalty and for reading everyday. I only hope you find things to make a happy day.

Bits and Pieces

We are going to have a rainy day today. After all the rain we've had....the lawns are just starting to slow down their growth and look a little dry. It is hot this morning and the AC is on. I love to have the windows open and we will as soon as it cools down a bit.
I took the hanging baskets down so they could get some rain. I didn't notice any Japanese beetles on my plants yesterday. The bath with "simple green" seems to have done the trick. The only thing that I don't like about using it is the blossoms on the petunias look like they are marbled.
The finches have set up their household over the light fixture. They are busy flying in and out when we open the door. They will just have to get used to us....we live here.
The nasturtiums are getting bigger, but no flowers. How long does it take...Audra wants to know?
Waiting patiently for the Madonna Lilies and the Star Gazers to open up. Speaking of lilies....I was driving by the bank a couple of days ago... and the parking lot behind it was empty of cars. As I went by, there was a flash of color in the corner of my left eye. Whoa what was that? I went around the block and entered the lot. There are lilies everywhere. A thick row as long as the lot of beautiful lilies. All of the same kind. At the ends of the lot...beautiful full snowball bushes. I thought to myself a hidden treasure in my town that I'm sure many people have just driven by without seeing. I came home and picked up my husband, so he could see this beauty too. (didn't pick up the camera though) I have told some of my neighbors about it. We went for a long drive last night and I was thinking....here we are, as are many people, looking for something wonderful to see...and we have it in our own backyard.

The shower didn't last long and now it is really humid.
Just back from the library. Got books on butterflies and frogs for grandsons who will visit tomorrow. We are going to our nature center at the forest preserve up the road.I would like the rain to stay away till they go home.

Such a nice thought that we have beauty right in our own backyard. I know this everyday. I unfortunately live kind of close to neighbors that can intrude, but still I look.

Thanks for dropping by and wishing me luck with my kitten. I absolutely cannot keep her. I am looking into options now. It was a shock I hope never to see again, but I am glad I was able to save it before it was totally lost to the wild around here.

Can you send some rain to Tennessee?

And welcome to blogging!
