A Sentiment

God knew what He was doing when He sent a gentle breeze and brought a lovely butterfly to set my heart at ease. The happiness of your friendship and the gentleness of your words have touched my life in special ways and now I feel assured. Thank you for your loyalty and for reading everyday. I only hope you find things to make a happy day.

A Rerun

I feel like it is Christmas at Never Enough Time. This beauty is White Christmas. I bought the bulb a year or two ago and put it in the garden for last summer. Then in the fall, I brought it in and let it rest for the winter. Here she is again. Just as big as it was before....only maybe she won't get two flower stalks again. It's no matter to me...I am happy with just the one.
She grew very tall, once she got going. I tied it for the picture with just some twine. I have to go to the basement to get some raffia to give her a proper bow. I have one or two more just in bud. Charisma (my favorite) will bloom soon. If I didn't know that they were meant to enjoy for Christmas, I'd love it all the more. I have good luck growing these and keeping them from year to year. I always have some from the previous year and then buy one new one at Christmas time. I have learned to buy different colors than red, because then they look good in the house at any season. So now while the Easter lilies are in the supermarkets...I have this beautiful white flower to enjoy.

I'm just about ready to go out and start working. We had just over a half inch of rain last night. It's surprising to me how much the green things have popped in the woods. Yesterday, all I could see back there was brown and a little bit of green. Today, everything has started to jump. Lots of green...maybe it's only garlic mustard :( Our landscape guy called last night and we hired him to spread the mulch. Wow! It's so expensive to have this done this year. We figure that we simply can't do the job and if we want to stay here in our home...we have to hire out jobs like this. Lawn mowing and snow removal too. It's cheaper to hire people to do these jobs than it would be to move. I'm not saying that we won't buy a condo...just not right now. I still love to do the work I can and love my gardens.

It looks very much like an Easter flower! Seems you are keeping up with the garden work. Afraid mine has gotten ahead of me. Much rain last night, but will try to do what we can today. I see sunshine out there.

I am working in my yard too, Balisha. I have tyo do it myself and it is very time consuming...especially the raking and bagging.

That flower is just beautiful. I do most of my yard work with Bob's help. He can't do as much as he used to. I am thankful for what he does, although I can run circles around him. lol. He tends to get off track from what he is supposed to be doing. When it gets too hot for me to do the mowing with a push mower, I will hire someone. Most of the time I do it myself though and enjoy the exercise. I pulled a muscle in my back several weeks ago trying to start the mower to mulch leaves. It is one of those kind where you pull the rope to start it. It was a week before I figured out what was wrong and how I did it to myself.
