A Sentiment

God knew what He was doing when He sent a gentle breeze and brought a lovely butterfly to set my heart at ease. The happiness of your friendship and the gentleness of your words have touched my life in special ways and now I feel assured. Thank you for your loyalty and for reading everyday. I only hope you find things to make a happy day.

My Sunday Morning

Little fried chicken dinner today. I got up early and cut up a whole fryer. Joe usually does this, but he was running late. They are bringing communion from Church in a little while and he had to get ready. The chickens were on sale for 99  cents a lb. so I bought a couple. Kind of scrawny chickens, but it will be a meal for us and a couple pieces leftover. I like to soak the chicken in buttermilk before frying. It's in the fridge soaking as I type this. Later on, I will dredge the pieces in a seasoned flour mixture and then fry it in canola oil with some butter added. After it is browned nicely...it will go into the oven while the rest of the dinner is prepared. Mashed potatoes, salad, and string beans. Joe always laughs when we  have this meal. When we first met, I was having trouble with my toilet running. He lived quite a distance from me and told me that he would fix it, but I would have to feed him. This was one of my "go to" meals and I thought he would like it. He's remembered it all these years and talks about it every time I fix it. They say the way to a man's heart is through his stomach...and this held true for this man.

I have the little felt ornaments done....way ahead of time, so I think I will start another little candle ring made out of felt. I love making these as I can use up  my scraps of felt and have a nice little thing for the house. Maybe I'll do a Valentine one. I'll show you later, what I come up with.

Attention to all who are tired of hearing about the weather....It snowed for the better part of yesterday. A light fluffy snow and was a little windy. The bird feeders are covered with snow and as I look out....a little hole in the corner where the snow has been pushed away...looks like the little sparrow has been at work. There was a trail to the bird feeder in the ground the other day. The snow was receding and didn't cover the area under the feeder. It looked like the trail of a Vole. They always leave a little visible tunnel to the area where bird seed lies. I haven't been filling the feeder in the back...just the front.....this little guy used to be in back, but now he knows where the food source is...and he has moved. I know that there may be many Voles, but I like to think of just one little fellow living here....just like my dear little chipmunk.

Well, it's getting late and I have to go. I may be back later to show my fried chicken...if I remember to take pictures fast....before it's all gone.
