A Sentiment

God knew what He was doing when He sent a gentle breeze and brought a lovely butterfly to set my heart at ease. The happiness of your friendship and the gentleness of your words have touched my life in special ways and now I feel assured. Thank you for your loyalty and for reading everyday. I only hope you find things to make a happy day.

Thoughts Go Through My Head on Saturday

I passed by these little plants yesterday...hanging in the garage. It looks like some little creature has taken up residence there among the succulents. The soil is disturbed...I hope who ever it was didn't burrow down and start eating the roots. These hearty plants don't have much of a root system, however. You can pretty much break one off and just plop it into the ground and it will take root. If you remember, this is a hanging basket. I experimented with it last summer, and it was so successful that I may try another this summer. Can you tell I'm tired of snow and looking forward to the growing season?I have a strawberry jar that needs redoing and some plants for my other succulent planter are spending the winter downstairs.

I'm going to get ready for gardening starting right now. I have my exercise video ready and Joe has the Dr's. OK to go to the pool. So, this next week we start with water walking again. It will feel so good to get going and do some exercising...after being sloth like all winter. We'll swim on Mon, Wed, and Fri. Then Joe can go to therapy on Tues. and Thurs.

Still fussing with swimsuits. Men have it so easy...just put on a pair of swim trunks and jump in. We women have to  find a suit that fits all our parts and still looks good. If you ask a man, "How does this one look?" Most likely he'll say, "Fine." You say..." Is this too tight?" He'll say, "Aren't swimsuits supposed to be tight?"  So big help that he is...why didn't we put a three way mirror in the closet?

This morning I saw a tiny bird in the corner of our hanging shelf feeder. He was puffed up and shivering. I think that he was dying. I watched for quite a while and he stayed there. Such a sad little thing. A couple of hours later he was gone. I'll never know what happened. This harsh winter has been so hard on wildlife. I can hardly eat a meal and look out at the empty feeder on the deck. Little birds still come there...even if we fill the one in the front of the  house...they like the back one better. Not safe for me to go out there...so they will have to find the front feeders.

Well, gotta go. Today is Joe's son Dan's birthday. He and Melody are coming out for dinner tomorrow. I made the pasta sauce this morning....we'll have all the fixins along with birthday cake.

So, we've gone from planters to birthday cake. A lot of things went through my head as I sat and wrote this post.

See you tomorrow,
Balisha

I love the succulents.
I am happy that you can resume going to the pool. I haven't bought a swimsuit in years...I would hate to try!
I know you all will enjoy the birthday dinner tomorrow.
Have a good evening.

But I always enjoy reading those thoughts that go through your head, Balisha.

Oh--I wish I were there--I could fill the feeders for you!!! I see my feeders all day long and right now, they need filling but I was moving furniture all day and I am pooped! Tomorrow little birdies--I promise.

Your succulents look good still. I'm thinking of something similar for more containers this summer.
Enjoy that pool. It will feel extra good on a cold day. Oh, the trials of finding a swim suit. I now order mine from Lands' End. They really do stay where they're suppose to. Ha!

Have fun with the birthday celebration. My hubby's birthday is next Wednesday so we have plans with family tomorrow to celebrate.

Can I assume your garage is heated? And are you talking about bugs or small animals getting at the plant?

I give you credit for swimming...I would never get in a swimsuit in a place like that...maybe a pool in another state!

I was taking the trash can to it's place yesterday and there was a small squirrel, no longer living (to put it gently). It was just frozen on top of the snow, it's eyes just half open. I was so afraid he would blink. But it was gone. So, so sad. I am so sensitive.

Snow coming down tonight, but I hear we are okay for now. Another big snow coming this week. :(

XO,
Jane

Balisha he was probably just resting for a bit...I see my little birds "Chill out " like that sometimes and it is almost like they are taking a nap in the shelter of the feeder> Your place gave him a little respite for awhile, no doubt.

The garage is not heated, but it's warmer than outside. I leave many succulents outside in the ground, but when they are in a container and it can be moved easily...I put it in the garage.

The first time Joe went to the pool, he came home and said that there was no worry about how we looked in our swimsuits. At the pool...we all have flaws. . That's what is nice about swimming with people of our own age.It really doesn't bother me that I'm not a bathing beauty....I wouldn't let that keep me from swimming and having fun.

The birds peck out my succulents and I am glad that they are so easy to put back.
