A Sentiment

God knew what He was doing when He sent a gentle breeze and brought a lovely butterfly to set my heart at ease. The happiness of your friendship and the gentleness of your words have touched my life in special ways and now I feel assured. Thank you for your loyalty and for reading everyday. I only hope you find things to make a happy day.

We Appreciate Company Right Now

Joe just laid down to rest when our friends down the street called. They wanted to come visit and we told them to come ahead. The door bell rang and there they were, Ron and Mary, holding a cake...just freshly baked.French Vanilla with butter cream icing. I had set up chairs in the bedroom and we visited there for a while. Then Joe got up and we all went into the living room, where we had cake and coffee. They really brought some cheer to us and we laughed and forgot the surgery talk for a while. Friends like this are so important as we grow older. We can joke and laugh at ourselves with these people. You'd never know that Joe just had surgery with the sounds of laughter coming out of our house.

Earlier in the day Betty, who has that wonderful garden up the road, sent down a freshly baked loaf of bread. I had just made chicken salad and the bread was perfect for that meal. I love warm bread and so does Joe.

The day before a friend,  Joe, and his daughter Andrea from Church brought him a devotional book about the Korean war...and a plate of Kolaches. We learned that Andrea will study in Rome after this holiday season. We spent time talking about her trip and learned that she'll be there during Holy Week.

They all brought interesting talk and food...We love company and really appreciate it right now.

PS...Did you notice the remotes next to Joe? A man can't be without his remotes! And that cookie sheet...I'll tell you about that next week.

Starting out the new year with a new hip--what could be better. Joe will be playing in the garden come spring time. So nice to have neighbor's--excited for Andrea to be in Rome during Holy Week and get to hear and see Pope Francis--he is truly a wonder.

Glad to see 2013 get outta here!!!
