A Sentiment

God knew what He was doing when He sent a gentle breeze and brought a lovely butterfly to set my heart at ease. The happiness of your friendship and the gentleness of your words have touched my life in special ways and now I feel assured. Thank you for your loyalty and for reading everyday. I only hope you find things to make a happy day.

Comfort For Me

It just started snowing here at 8:45am. Nice day to stay inside. I will try to keep the day comfortable for us. comfort for me is being warm and contented. Nice day to use a new Christmas gift...a heated throw. It feels luxurious and soft. Plug it in and it is warm. I keep it at the end of the couch...ready to use anytime I feel chilled.
Speaking of comfort....how about a little Mary Oliver this morning.....the award winning poet that I love so much? She writes about nature so beautifully. In her poems, we find her attention to the smallest particle of nature. A comforting thing for me today...would be reading from one of her many poetry books.
Enjoy the day~ Balisha

The snow
began here
this morning and all day
continued, its white
rhetoric everywhere
calling us back to why, how,
whence such beauty and what
the meaning; such
an oracular fever! flowing
past windows, an energy it seemed
would never ebb, never settle
less than lovely! and only now,
deep into night,
it has finally ended.
The silence
is immense,
and the heavens still hold
a million candles, nowhere
the familiar things:
stars, the moon,
the darkness we expect
and nightly turn from. Trees
glitter like castles
of ribbons, the broad fields
smolder with light, a passing
creekbed lies
heaped with shining hills;
and though the questions
that have assailed us all day
remain — not a single
answer has been found –
walking out now
into the silence and the light
under the trees,
and through the fields,
feels like one.

I just received my first Mary Oliver: Dog Songs. I am loving it! In fact, I think I'll snuggle up with my Oliver and read to him awhile. Your heated throw sounds just right for a day like today. Enjoy!

Best,
Bonnie

Yes, snow here, too. Perfect day to stay warm and content at home. I don't drive in snow so that decision was easy for me!

The words comfort like the peace of falling snow. I kept your post up on the monitor and enjoyed the poem throughout the day. We may get our first accumulation of snow tomorrow.

I just love Mary Oliver and so happy you shared her words here today, Balisha. Perfect timing. Snow coming. Mary Oliver has a home very near me...so special to know she is near.
