A Sentiment

God knew what He was doing when He sent a gentle breeze and brought a lovely butterfly to set my heart at ease. The happiness of your friendship and the gentleness of your words have touched my life in special ways and now I feel assured. Thank you for your loyalty and for reading everyday. I only hope you find things to make a happy day.

October Thoughts

The little maple in the woods.

Waiting in the Drs. waiting room for Joe. Hoping for good news and maybe no surgery.
Noticing the drab, drab office....all in grays and off whites and wondering why....why are people afraid of color?
No news another Dr to see. This has gone on for a couple of months...do they realize people are in pain?
Out for dinner on the way home. Woman behind us complaining all the time...friendly waiter trying to appease her. She spoke to manager about poor service. I couldn't let them think it was the waiter's fault. I went to the manager and told him about the wonderful service we were having with same waiter. Waiter smiled.
Coming home and seeing the beauty all around. Trees of crimson and yellow orange on all sides of the road. Soon the trees will be bare...I love bare trees against a snowy background. I guess I love all seasons of trees.
Pulling into drive....noticing that my work is just about finished. Just the mums are blooming. Leaving the front until the very end. Leaves whip by the windshield...from our newish maple tree. I remember when I bought it for Joe...he said that we are too old to plant trees. Just 3 yrs. ago ...and you should see how the tree has grown. Love watching saplings grow.
Bulbs to plant....where is that little chipmunk scamp? Hope he doesn't know I am planting them. Tasty snack for him.
Looking forward to fall baking. Pumpkin breads and cranberry....with butter or cream cheese or just plain. Yum!
Laundered lightweight down comforter and put away for next year. Made the bed with winter down...no flannel sheets yet.
Heat on in the house...feels nice in early morning.
Planning meals for when Joe might be hospitalized...freezer meals to pull out when I am busy.
Talked to kids yesterday. Some travel plans include trip to Florida next weekend ...one will travel to California.
Cousin Judy on my mind. She's finished with chemo and will get ready for transplant soon. She's the top of my prayer list. She has a wonderful attitude and if that counts for anything...she will get through this.
Sun disappearing behind some dark clouds...bulb planting will have to wait. I'm tired and want to rest.
TV and hot tea are waiting.

Enjoyed your little list of a post.
Sure hope for some direction and improvement for your hubby soon.
You are never too old to plant a tree!!! My 86 year old father is still planting trees. :-)
So sweet of you to give the waiter a lift. It's easy to let a negative person ruin your whole day. Glad you were there.
Take care.

I felt the same way when planting my bulbs. In fact, I kept looking around to make sure no chippies or squirrels were watching, LOL. I hope they figure out what is going on with Joe and can help him be free of pain!!! I don't like that kind of worry!!! My Daddy planted a bunch of dwarf fruit trees when he was 75. People laughed at him too. He lived to be 92 and enjoyed many years of fruit from those trees!!! Never too old.

Hello Balisha .. what a beautiful picture of the leaves in their brightest colour .. just gorgeous!
I think that was wonderful for you to speak on behalf of the waiter. Things like that make such a difference ..
Trees ... they make such a difference and age does not matter, it is an investment in the earth's future .. they will go on without us and some one else will appreciate the work that went into planting it!
All my best wishes for Joe and your relative .. positive thoughts !!

I finally transplanted a coneflower yesterday to give the hydrangea a bit more room next year. The temps are cooling here. A hot cup of tea tastes good this afternoon.
