A Sentiment

God knew what He was doing when He sent a gentle breeze and brought a lovely butterfly to set my heart at ease. The happiness of your friendship and the gentleness of your words have touched my life in special ways and now I feel assured. Thank you for your loyalty and for reading everyday. I only hope you find things to make a happy day.

Double Digits...Oh No!

Here's my little pal who lives next door. She's lived there since she was a toddler. Her birthday was yesterday and we had a long visit. She is sunshine to me....always makes me smile. A good friend for me right now. She commented that this was her 10th birthday...double digits. She said that she wasn't happy with being double digits...she said that she is too small for that. She told us that she would like to stay small and not grow up. The only child that I have ever known who didn't want to grow up. Her brother ran over after our visit with her and told us about the surprise for Audra. A scooter of her own. Our neighborhood is full of kids with these scooters....so drivers are aware of them driving up and down the hills.
This morning, there was to be a funeral at our Church and I was asked to bring a dish. So, I took my jello salad over and came back. There was Audra with her new present...parked by the side of the road. She had the biggest smile on her face. I pulled over and talked to her about it. She said that she loved it and the color was perfect for her. She showed me where the battery charger was...she said, "When I'm at a friend's house and my scooter poops out...I can just charge it up and drive home." So cute. I asked her if she had a nice birthday yesterday...she said, "Yes, but 10 yrs old! Double digits...that I don't like."

You have written about her over the years--so precious! Double Digits!! My grandkids always thought that birthday was very "cool". It is nice to know a child who is in no hurry to grow up--reminds me of myself at that age. I still don't want to grow up!!! A nice day for you.

What a sweet, sweet friend for you to have. She is a delight. I don't blame her for wanting to stay young.

Love and hugs to you ~ FlowerLady

I never thought of a helmet....The kids drive around and no one has a helmet. I wonder why? I'll have to mention that to Audra when her parents are around. I think it's a good idea.

She is a smart young lady and a good neighbor, too. I also thought about a helmet - there are chic designs available in fun colors.
