Here is a picture of my favorite bird house. It has no way of cleaning it...so things are just left there from year to year. If you look closely there is a wren hanging on to the doorway. The birdhouse is on a lower branch of the tree, but it doesn't seem to matter to these little birds.I can sit under it and they come and go...looking at me as if I'm a lawn ornament. As for cleaning the house....the wrens simply get to work and take the old nesting material out...one by one...taking a very long time. They are such persistent birds...spending hours on their nest. Last year they made a pile on the ground under the house and then turned around and put all the debris back in the house. After the eggs are laid...they start their chattering and scolding every time I come near. They flit around and try to fake me out as to where their nest is. I love this little aggressive bird...probably one of my very favorites. I can't wait until next month when they return.

They are cute little birds...I had some make a nest in one of my birdhouses at the lake and I loved to watch them, too! That's a very cute birdhouse!
Happy Saturday!

Jane
ah...sweet little wren! :)
Our birds are just now showing up wondering when winter weather will make way for spring!
Best,
Bonnie
They are such sweet little birds. I haven't seen any in years around here. I don't have any bird houses, so that may be why?
It is fun to have birds nesting in a house you've put up. I remember a wren house my folks had-- it was in the same spot for decades!
If it was mine it would be my favorite, too.

I love your birdhouse...and I love little wrens, too. :))
Over from Favorite Things...
Such a sweet bird - so feisty! I love that birdhouse, Balisha.
Thanks so much for joining in this week.

What a sweet story! I love the little wrens too.

Love the wrens and their song.
I have three that come back every year. They don't show up here until May.
Joined your blog...I really enjoyed it.

Bird houses are so varied. Yours is beautiful...rather than "sweet". I have one made by a friend that needs cleaning out. I forget to do that because it is a complicated business. Tomorrow I'll do it thanks to your lovely reminder!
The wren is my favorite garden bird too! They love our garden, and especially the front porch and kitchen window box. I believe strongly that ours are all one family, the babies who started as tiny eggs in the nests here - and each year they return and bring so much joy and of course lay more eggs!
Sweet birdhouse and I love how they removed everything and then stuck it back in, hilarious!
Happy weekend -
Mary
That is an adorable bird house the the wrens seem to know how to keep a home even with out you cleaning for them. Love to hear wrens sing!
Love it! Found you on A Favorite Thing and I'd love to have you stop by and share your post on The Creative HomeAcre Hop today!

I love your birdhouse. I wish I had good bird stories. They keep banging on my kitchen windows and making a mess!
I love to watch the birds in our birdhouse, which isn't as lovely as yours though. :-)
I can't remember for the life of me where I got this one. I've had it for so long. It really seems to be a favorite with the birds. We've had wrens, chickadees and sparrows living in it. Sometimes there is a little war going on as to who will take up residence.
Thankyou for all your lovely comments. It seems that so many bloggers love the birds.

What a sweet birdhouse! Wrens are so dear, they are one of my favorite birds. It's so lovely that you have them each year.
