A Sentiment

God knew what He was doing when He sent a gentle breeze and brought a lovely butterfly to set my heart at ease. The happiness of your friendship and the gentleness of your words have touched my life in special ways and now I feel assured. Thank you for your loyalty and for reading everyday. I only hope you find things to make a happy day.

Recipe for Cleaning Solution

Here's my recipe for cleaning solution for just about anything.

1 gal. hot water
1 cup white vinegar
1/2 cup ammonia
1/4 cup baking soda
This works like a charm and you don't have any harsh chemicals (I don't know about ammonia) or fragrances like in store preparations. Dad introduced me to this years ago...he said it was the best for washing walls.
I use white vinegar for lots of things around the house....and
I like ammonia for loosening crusty things that might be in your microwave.
I keep a bottle filled with water and bleach for cleaning my countertop after cutting up chicken and meat. Here's a tip...I'm just full of them today :)...I have a fairly new range and was told not to use abrasives on it. I take the caps off the burners, that get black spots on them, and soak them in straight dishwasher liquid detergent. I soak them for an hour. They are so easy to clean after that soaking.I brush the dishwasher detergent on cookie sheets and let them sit for awhile...to soften baked on things.I have used this d.t. for lots of things.
That's about it...sorry I forgot to post this.

I'm going to mix up a batch of this, Balisha. I like to be clean and tidy, but I have some organizational issues. Every one thinks I'm so "put-together" but I need a kick in the pants more often than not! LOL

Balisha, always use vinegar, baking soda but the ammonia separate. A lot of bleach is used in this cottage. My oldest daughter calls me the Bleach Queen :)

Back in the day, when I had my first dishwasher, I used to soak my baby's undershirts that were formula stained in dishwashing detergent. it worked like a dream and much better then bleach!
