A Sentiment

God knew what He was doing when He sent a gentle breeze and brought a lovely butterfly to set my heart at ease. The happiness of your friendship and the gentleness of your words have touched my life in special ways and now I feel assured. Thank you for your loyalty and for reading everyday. I only hope you find things to make a happy day.

You Take Two Cans of Crescent Rolls.......

I don't have a picture of the end result...we ate it all :) I was hungry for pizza the other day and decided to fool around and create something for dinner. Here is what I did:

I took two cans of crescent rolls and pressed one can into a 9 in. square pan. I cut the 2nd one in half and used 1 half for finishing the pan. Then I browned 1 roll of Italian sausage in a skillet and added 1/2 of a chopped onion and a chopped green pepper. I crumbled the mixture  up real good and then when it was nice and brown, I added sliced ripe olives, mushrooms, some hot pepper flakes, oregano, salt and pepper. I took a pkg of shredded mozzarella cheese and put half in the bottom of the crust. Then I poured in the meat mixture. I topped it with some Italian seasonings, a chopped fresh tomato and spread a can of  Contadina pizza sauce on top. (It was bigger than an 8 oz can...the next size I guess) I added the rest of the cheese and took the leftover 1/2 can of crescents and sliced them in pinwheel shapes...and placed them on top. I brushed the tops with an egg wash and then sprinkled Parmesan cheese over that. I baked it at 400 deg. for about 20 minutes.Being a pretty warm day, I tried baking it in  my table top oven. It worked out well. This oven will be nice to use in the summer, when I don't want to heat up the kitchen. This was really pretty tasty...as I said..we have none left. I forgot to take a picture when it came out of the oven....It came out of the pan perfectly..sliced easily and along with a salad...a nice meal.

That sounds lovely! I make pizza toast and have it with salad at the weekends. It's a great way to use up leftovers. Jx
