Rascal

Oh, what a sweet face. Innocent looking creature, huh? Well, not so innocent. I found some feces in the yard near the place where I sit to rest. It was there a couple of times. Joe picked it up and said that whoever did it was a seed eater.Raccoons eat a lot of berries.  I had forgotten all about the raccoons that visited last year. We would find our hummingbird feeder empty in the morning and were puzzled about who was drinking it. One of our neighbors said that they had raccoons doing the same thing at their house. We started bringing in the feeder at night and that solved the problem. Well, here we are a year later and the hummingbird feeder is empty again. I hurried to make new nectar and I guess we will have to bring it in each night. This might be the same rascal who dug up my marigolds and a couple of peppers the other night. This reminds me of  a few years ago, when we  went out to the deck, during the day, and looked to the bottom of the steps and there were two little raccoons hugging each other.....twins. They were so cute.  When they saw us they ran around the house and one of them got into our garage. He got up into our riding mower and Joe had to get it out of the engine. He took the little one across the road on a big rake and let it go in the field.
We love the wildlife that comes into our yard and this is simply an annoyance. We can deal with it, but they better not get my tomatoes!
