A Sentiment

God knew what He was doing when He sent a gentle breeze and brought a lovely butterfly to set my heart at ease. The happiness of your friendship and the gentleness of your words have touched my life in special ways and now I feel assured. Thank you for your loyalty and for reading everyday. I only hope you find things to make a happy day.

Downton Abbey and more...

I watched Downton Abbey...the first season yesterday. I missed it when it was on TV and so I got the DVD's at the library. I had to know what all the talk was about. Joe had a meeting, so I had the evening to myself...I got a cup of tea (you have to drink tea to watch a British film) and settled myself, with my sewing, to watch this masterpiece. I loved it! I was swept away to England and watched several of the episodes. I'm hooked...and now I have to get season 2 from the library.

I was out for part of the day yesterday and did a few things. It really got warm in the afternoon....so down to the basement I went. I had started sorting through all of the wreath making materials a day or two before and I had to finish up. I got that done and plants watered, work table tidied up and then started something that I had to get done soon....getting the cushions out for the front porch. Last year I took an old bench cushion and recovered it with an old quilt. The quilt was one that I had bought at Walmart...not really of any value, so I used it to cover the cushion and I also made matching cushions for my Adirondack chair. The other two chairs had a couple of mismatched cushions and throws tossed on the backs. I checked out their condition and decided to take them off and wash them. So, I spent a good part of the late afternoon and evening washing the covers and then sewing them back on. I was sewing on these while I watched Downton Abbey.

Today I'll be in the kitchen making some pineapple upside down cupcakes that I found on Judy's food blog... http://thesouthernladycooks.com/2012/03/08/pineapple-upside-down-cupcakes/
We are having a celebration at Church this weekend...a St. Joseph's Table and many of us are bringing food for that. I'll post more about that tomorrow.
So, even if the weather is nice out...I will be in the house today. I guess this could be called "pacing myself"

I'm so glad that you enjoyed Downton Abbey.. There was a lovely Christmas special in December. I'm not sure if it would have formed part of the DVD sets of the series - but it moves the story on so you need to see it! Jx

Downton Abby is on television weekly??? I have been renting it from Netflex and trying to catch up. I am lost as to what disk I have seen or not seen. Can you tell I am confused? :)
I've been doing the same..cushion wise etc. but came to a stop of late. Back to the surgeon on Tuesday to see the THIRD results of a test. Sometimes I would like to just not do anything...nothing..ignore all signs of anything being wrong. Seems when I have something checked I end up in trouble having something "removed".. :) It's..disconcerting to say the least.
hugs and thank you for stopping by, Balisha!1 :)

Season 1 and 2 have already been shown on PBS. There are plans for season 3 next year. Each season is on a DVD. There are 3 discs in each DVD holder. I just watched season 1...it was about 6 hours of viewing. I just asked the library to get me the 2nd season. I would imagine that the 2nd season is about the same length. You can also buy season 1 and 2 through Amazon.
I believe that the Christmas special will be in season 2.
I'm sure that most everyone would like it.
