A Sentiment

God knew what He was doing when He sent a gentle breeze and brought a lovely butterfly to set my heart at ease. The happiness of your friendship and the gentleness of your words have touched my life in special ways and now I feel assured. Thank you for your loyalty and for reading everyday. I only hope you find things to make a happy day.

The Windows of My Mind

I hurt my back last week, and I have been resting off and on in bed. I started to write a funny poem about the day I washed the windows and hurt my back. As I was thinking about how to write it...I went in a new direction entirely. So, now that I'm on the mend...here is what I wrote the other day..MeThe Windows Of My Mind by Balisha

As time goes by and I grow old, I find I have the time ..
To gaze upon the world outside through windows in my mind.
I see the natural world so green outside my open door..
I watch as winter comes again as it did the year before.
I see people of all colors just struggling to survive..
As I look a little closer their stories come alive.
They walk so fast, it seems to me, they really do not see..
The person walking next to them...they only think of me.
With heads bent down in weather cold they never even glance..
To see the person next to them.. to give themselves a chance..
To really get to know them and see the life they lead.
They miss so much, it seems to me, going at this speed..
The world can be so lonely if you never even see..
The person walking next to you or care about his needs.
As Christmas comes once again and knocks upon our door..
I hope the world slows down a bit so we can see some more,
Of those people walking next to us in a world as it could be.
If we only pay attention to see what we can see..
A friendly place where we can live.. where people take the time..
To sit and see the real world through windows in their minds.

You are so right. So many people today are far too busy to notice anything. Beautiful poem and I am so glad your back is better.
