One of the gals did the arrangement in front of the Altar. The cornucopia was made by us years ago and is still in use. It's starting to look a little shabby, so it needed to be camouflaged with fall leaves.
The flowers on the Altar were left over from a Church event that took place during the week They were too pretty to toss, so the vases were changed to blend in.
The gals who are on the committee are much younger than I. I love the way they always include me in decision making. People don't realize what the Arts and Environment committee really does. The committee is involved in all aspects of decorating and changes in the whole Church. That means getting rid of clutter, buying new furniture, being in on changes in structure, paint colors, carpet buying, furniture arrangement...and many more things. I think that most Churches have a committee like this...If everyone pulls their weight..the job can be easy. The gals on this committee are busy moms who have jobs outside the home. I've always found that the busiest women are the hardest workers on committees. Moms have to be organized in this day and age...what with all the activities their families are involved in. They are the ones who volunteer to squeeze in an hour or so to help. What is that old saying, "Many hands make light work?
