A Sentiment

God knew what He was doing when He sent a gentle breeze and brought a lovely butterfly to set my heart at ease. The happiness of your friendship and the gentleness of your words have touched my life in special ways and now I feel assured. Thank you for your loyalty and for reading everyday. I only hope you find things to make a happy day.

Sunday Aftenoon

We spent the day by going out to lunch with my son...for his birthday next week. We ate at a new restaurant and all of us had very good food. John said that he had to play the Easter Bunny after our lunch...he was shopping for the kids Easter baskets. We planned to go to his son's, my grandson's musical at the high school. They planned for some of the family to come to each performance. The musical was "Once Upon a Mattress," the show that Carol Burnett starred in. I took this one picture and then someone came down the aisle and said that I couldn't take pictures. I didn't know this before...my Grandson, Tyler, saw us in the front row and knew that I had snapped the pic. When he was back stage....he text me and told me not to take pictures. I don't text...so I didn't get the message. I could have crawled under my seat. Well here he is on stage...talking to another player. These musicals really show the talent that is out there in our schools. The costumes and set were very professional looking. Tyler was part of the group "Jersey Kids" for a couple of years and has been in several other musical productions. He said that it was the last performance for the school year...he will miss it...he had a lot of fun..The kids did a wonderful job putting on this production.
Here is proud Grandma with Tyler. It was the last performance, so he had to help take down the set. We had a wonderful day.

PS...I just noticed how tall Tyler is...he's as tall as me!

Balisha, just what do they expect a grand-mother to do when one of their grand-children is on stage :) I would have done the same thing! By the way...I don't text either :)

Tyler is a fine looking grand-son and they sure do grow fast. My oldest grand-son is 24 and 6' 3" tall! I have photos of him in a clothes basket!!! Grand-mothers have to take photos! It's what we do!!!

We had a great time. I think that many of us miss the boat, when the local high school puts on a play or musical. They do such wonderful jobs and older people could benefit from spending an afternoon...just getting away from the TV and supporting our middle and high school kids.
I learned my lesson, however, leave the camera home:)

We recently attended our local grandson's last for the year orchestra recital. He plays cello, and is in eleventh grade. We have enjoyed following the group's growth within their abilities. This recital included fifth graders from three schools joining in with the older kids. I think the teacher is very good at inspiring the younger ones. Being with the high school students gives them something to strive for and look forward to. I'm glad to have local grandchildren to rouse me out of my sedentary ways and get me out to have fun.
