A Sentiment

God knew what He was doing when He sent a gentle breeze and brought a lovely butterfly to set my heart at ease. The happiness of your friendship and the gentleness of your words have touched my life in special ways and now I feel assured. Thank you for your loyalty and for reading everyday. I only hope you find things to make a happy day.

This and That

This morning I couldn't get out of the house fast enough. I was full of energy and ready to spread the last of the mulch. You know, a bag of mulch doesn't go very far! I really need a whole lot more, but I'm waiting for Spring, when Joe's back is healed and he can help. I went back to the woods and used my trusty machine...the noisy weed whacker. I was clearing some brush and found a bush that I had planted in the Spring. I had planted a Redbud tree, a Forsythia, a Mock Orange, and a Rose of Sharon. The first three took off and leafed out and took to the woods like it had always been their home. The Rose of Sharon, was still bare of leaves when everything started growing huge in our very hot summer. The Phlox were taller than ever before. Everything grew by leaps and bounds and the little Rose of Sharon was forgotten. This morning I was trying to pull up some tall weeds and I gave a tug....part of what I was attempting to pull up wouldn't budge. I looked more closely and there was the tag...it was my Rose of Sharon all leafed out and it had grown so much taller. I pulled things out around it and there she stands in a spot of honor...to be ignored no more. Next year we will see blooms....red ones. I transplanted some hostas and put in a Blueberry that I just bought at the local garden center. The bright red leaves attracted me and the thought of my birds getting a treat of blueberries made me buy it. I was finished and came back up to the house. Joe had started lunch...soup and sandwiches. We watched a movie...How to Make and American Quilt this afternoon. It was such a good movie. Yesterday we watched the Shawshank Redemption...we had seen it before, but we both wanted to see it again. That was our day.
Tomorrow I have to go and have another MRI. It's been a year since my brain surgery and the doctor wants to check to see if things are OK. I can tolerate an MRI, but I have to think of things to occupy my mind while lying there. Last time I said the Hail Mary over and over again. It takes about 45 minutes...so that's a lot of Hail Mary's. I have no reason to think that I have another tumor, but last time I had no symptoms either. It's good to keep an eye on it...so if a small one starts they can get it right away. My follow up doctor appt. is a week from tomorrow. I'll be glad when this is all over. I can't help but think about it...busy as I have been.
That's about it for today. I'll post again after the MRI. Please keep me in your prayers.

Hello Balisha,

How wonderful that your Rose of Sharon decided to grow and thrive. I look forward to pictures of her flowers next year. I will keep you in my prayers tomorrow. I hope the MRI goes quickly and you hear good results :-)

A year already? Although sometimes it seems longer than that. Good luck with everything.

Balisha, just came in from many hours of working outside - I will remember you in my prayers. Hope the MRI goes quickly. Having several - I always pray. Strange but sometimes I cannot remember what I usually say over and over.

I am glad your Rose of Sharon is growing and you didn't pull her up. You were a busy lady.Prayers that I am sure you will do fine with your MRI.

Hi Balisha, I guess by now you have had your MRI. I hope that everything was o.k. and will be checking back to see how it went. I guess we were both in the hospital at the same time. I had to have a scope done yesterday of my esophagus. I have a small hiatal hernia and they have to keep an eye on that, too, but all was o.k. They put me out and I slept all afternoon and all night. Bob took me and when we got home I told him I had no idea how to go up steps when we got to my porch. It always makes me act like a fool! Take care. I am thinking of you. Love and hugs.
