A Sentiment

God knew what He was doing when He sent a gentle breeze and brought a lovely butterfly to set my heart at ease. The happiness of your friendship and the gentleness of your words have touched my life in special ways and now I feel assured. Thank you for your loyalty and for reading everyday. I only hope you find things to make a happy day.

A Tale of Two Presents

When my daughter arrived, I was sitting on the front porch. She got out of the car and said that she had picked up a bird along the way. I thought she was serious and squinted my eyes to look into her backseat. I really thought that I saw a bird perched on the top of the back seat. To get a better look, after questioning her about where she had found it, I opened the door and found a tall bird, strapped in with a seat belt. The picture below is what I found. He's a garden sculpture and will stand next to my purple chair. I loved it...She called him...Peri...after the periwinkle blue glass on his body. He will stand watch for snakes and with that long bill...attack! While we were eating, the doorbell rang. It was Audra delivering her gift. Jenna had pulled the red wagon and Audra was in the back making her gifts as they went down the street. Her Dad has been doing some woodworking and must have given her a few scraps of wood. She had a ball point pen and drew a picture of a flower, Christmas tree, a star, and a self portrait. The girls didn't come in, however, they were busy delivering their gifts to all the neighborhood women.

A few days ago the neighborhood girls were sitting with me on the front porch...they asked about my favorite Mother's Day. I said it had to be, when my little kids made me breakfast in bed. They knocked at the door and walked in the bedroom, LuAnn, carrying the tray. I was served a tall glass of grape juice and toast with grape jelly. I wasn't crazy about grape flavor, but it was the kids favorite. I ate the whole thing. I had to, when I looked at their proud little smiling faces. They were probably 11, 12 and 1 at the time. When I told the story to the girls, one little girl said, "Neat idea...I'm going to make my Mom breakfast in bed. Ill have to get up before 6:30." I wonder what she served?

I just love your bird! I know you do, too! It looks wonderful beside the chair. I know you will enjoy it for many years to come. I'm glad it will be watching for snakes, too. Your night on the town sounds like so much fun. Great picture of the three of you. Have a great week.

Love Peri! He'll be a wonderful addition to the garden and will hopefully earn his keep while keeping those darned snakes at bay! :) I'm glad you had such a nice day.

Thankyou all for you Mother's Day wishes. All in all it was a wonderful weekend. It would have been even nicer if my sons didn't have to work, but we are making plans to get together this next weekend. Hope you all had a great day.
