A Sentiment

God knew what He was doing when He sent a gentle breeze and brought a lovely butterfly to set my heart at ease. The happiness of your friendship and the gentleness of your words have touched my life in special ways and now I feel assured. Thank you for your loyalty and for reading everyday. I only hope you find things to make a happy day.

Have A Nice Sunday

We went to Mass tonight. Our Priest, Father Nnaso, is back from Nigeria. He was there on a mission trip. He told us a story of how he got involved in building a library there. The country is mostly Muslim and there are few books for Christians. He was talking to a fellow and told him of his dream to build a library. The man reached into his pocket and handed him $20 to start the project. Father said that now he was committed to building one. An acre of land was donated and money was coming in. He said that the library would have to be protected, so a brick wall had to be constructed...a brick wall around an acre of land...very expensive. The money is gone and he must start finding people to donate again. The Lord will provide in some way.... I have no doubt.
I found this cute writing about No Excuse Sunday sometime ago...

No Excuse Sunday

To make it possible for everyone to attend church next Sunday, we are going to have a special "No Excuse Sunday".

1.Cots will be placed in the foyer for those who say, "Sunday is my only day to sleep in."

2.There will be a special section with lounge chairs who feel that our pews are too hard.

3.Eye drops will be available for those with tired eyes from watching T.V. late Saturday night.

4.We will have steel helmets for those who say " The roof would cave in if I ever came to church."

5.Blankets will be furnished for those who think the church is too cold and fans for those who say it is too hot.

6.Score cards will be available for those who wish to list the hypocrites present.

7.Relatives and friends will be in attendance for those who can't go to church and cook dinner, too.

8.We will distribute "Stamp Out Stewardship" buttons for those who feel that church is always asking for money.

9.One section will be devoted to trees and grass for those who like to seek God in nature.

10.Doctors and nurses will be in attendance for those who plan to be sick on Sunday.

11.The sanctuary will be decorated with both Christmas poinsettias and Easter lilies for those who never have seen the church without them.

12.We will provide hearing aids for those who can't hear the preacher and cotton for those who say he is to loud.

This was cute and not a one of us who attends church hasn't used at least one of them at some time. I have used the not feeling so well lately. I'm sorry... I felt guilty too, because I could have went in spite of not feeling so "perky" :)
Hugs..

Happy Sunday Balisha! I chuckled over the No Excuse Sunday essay - looks like just about every excuse in the book is covered. Best wishes to your priest on the fund-raising efforts - sounds like a very worthy project.
