A Sentiment

God knew what He was doing when He sent a gentle breeze and brought a lovely butterfly to set my heart at ease. The happiness of your friendship and the gentleness of your words have touched my life in special ways and now I feel assured. Thank you for your loyalty and for reading everyday. I only hope you find things to make a happy day.

Creativity on My Mind

I just finished reading a hilarious book....Whistlin' Dixie in a Nor'Easter by Lisa Patton. All about a southern belle and her family being uprooted and moving north...to Vermont. Leelee's husband is the cause of this upheaval. He wants to strike out on his own and run a Vermont inn. Leelee grudgingly comes to Vermont with her sundresses, sandals, children etc. not expecting the big snows, mud season and black fly season. I couldn't stop laughing and hurried happily through the book. I never want a book like this to end. The ending is a surprise. It's all about how she dealt with life's changes. If you want a good read that is so fast moving and easy to read...pick it up at your library. For us Northern gals...you will cuddle up under your down comforter and you will commiserate with Leelee, as the winds howl outdoors.
I started my new baby blanket last night. So soft and cuddley...perfect for a new baby girl. I love the yarn that I picked out. I'm making the next blanket with a hood.
This morning I was thinking about creativity and women. I know that I'm creative...I do so many creative things, take this morning, for instance, I fried 3 strips of bacon to near crispy perfection, then turning the fire down...plopped 3 fresh eggs right on top of the bacon, put bread in the toaster, covered the fry pan, poured juice, set the table, checked the progress of the eggs, took off the lid, basted the eggs until the tops were cooked just so, toast done and buttered and put on plate, lifted the perfect eggs on bacon out of the skillet using my extra wi_____de spatula, placing them just so on the plate, and serving them with a smile...I thought to myself (I know that you are laughing right now) Balisha, you are one creative woman...just look at those eggs on the plate! Grab your camera and take a picture. Then I thought, good grief, how boring to put a picture of eggs on this blog....get a grip...you have only had lots of cold and snow since Christmas...a warm up is coming....the sun is shining...you will leave the house...you will get out with all the people...you will carry on conversations...you'll leave your coat in the car...no more layers. I can't wait for the 30's.
Balisha
Hey...that was Joe's breakfast..mine was yogurt, banana, toast and juice.

Sounds yummy to me, and that book sounds like just the sort of thing I love to read. I'll try our library. :)

Your books sounds good. I've read books like that when I feel I would love to pick it up every evening just to see what the characters did during the day. I hate it when the book ends and I'm left wondering what they are doing now. Like losing friends.

I never think of myself as creative. More of a craftswoman who learns and practices and tries to do things properly. I'm not creative as in thinking up original ideas.
