A Sentiment

God knew what He was doing when He sent a gentle breeze and brought a lovely butterfly to set my heart at ease. The happiness of your friendship and the gentleness of your words have touched my life in special ways and now I feel assured. Thank you for your loyalty and for reading everyday. I only hope you find things to make a happy day.

A Christmas Message from a Junco

A Christmas Message From a Junco

This morning I awakened with worries on my mind..
I went right to the window to see what I could find.
A little bird was sitting on the feeder oh so small..
It was a little junco who had come to us this fall.
He ate so very slowly and he was so all alone..
I wondered why he came today to visit my sweet home.
The windy weather warned us of ice that's on the way..
He seemed to have no worries.. as the feeder starts to sway.
My head is full of worries..of a daughter on the road..
I prayed that she'd be safe and gave my Lord the load.
The little bird looked knowing and cocked his little head..
He seemed to say, "Balisha, you have nothing more to dread."
He kept right on eating though he took some time to look..
At me sitting here and watching in my breakfast nook.
He said to me, "Balisha, you have nothing more to fear.
Don't you know that Christmas is so very near.
Your family will be safe... tomorrow you have a date..
To gather round the Christmas tree and start to celebrate.
You all will make some memories to carry through the year..
Of good times with a family that you hold so very dear.
You've given it to God...He'll be with her all the way..
Merry Christmas, dear Balisha it's what I came to say."

Lovely poem Balisha! You're so talented! I hope the junco and writing the poem were cathartic, and I'm adding my good wishes that your daughter navigates this weather well and arrives home safely.

Merry Christmas to you and your family!

I love to read your poems!!! Where is your daughter traveling from? My girlfriend just came in from Atlanta yesterday and she said the roads were great! I'm sure you have nothing to worry about, she'll be careful. She wants to see you as much as you want to see her I'm sure!!! So don't worry!!!
ave a great day!!

I awoke this morning with worries. A daughter and granddaughter on the road, wet highways and high winds. I allowed the worries to follow me much of the morning. Knowing worrying is not good didn't help. And then I came here for a visit.
I had fed the wild birds this morning..and no little junco was here in California to cheer me, but Balisha, you did! I smiled and knew my loved ones were safe. *smile*

Love, hugs and a Merry Christmas to you, Joe, and your whole family!
